💚 Alla scoperta di Valle Majelama

Un corridoio di roccia che sembra portarti direttamente nel cuore selvaggio dell'Abruzzo. Salva questo post se stai già programmando le tue prossime escursioni! 👇

🏔 Ci troviamo a Valle Majelama, un maestoso e profondo canyon situato nel territorio del Parco Regionale Sirente-Velino, precisamente nel comune di Massa d'Albe (AQ). Nonostante il nome tragga in inganno ricordando la Maiella, siamo in realtà ai piedi del massiccio del Monte Velino!

🥾 Camminare qui dentro significa attraversare una valle di origine tettonica e glaciale, stretta tra pareti di roccia altissime che tolgono il fiato. Il paesaggio cambia continuamente: si passa da pietraie e arbusti a radure dove la natura si mostra in tutta la sua forza.

🏔 We are in Valle Majelama, a majestic and deep canyon located within the Sirente-Velino Regional Park, specifically in the municipality of Massa d'Albe (AQ). Despite the misleading name that might remind you of the Maiella, we are actually at the foot of the Monte Velino massif!

🥾 Walking through here means crossing a valley of tectonic and glacial origin, squeezed between breathtakingly high rock walls. The landscape changes constantly: shifting from scree slopes and shrubs to clearings where nature shows off all its power.

💚 Incastonato nella roccia

🏞 L'Eremo di Sant'Onofrio si trova nel cuore del Parco Nazionale della Maiella, nei pressi di Sulmona. Il sentiero per raggiungerlo è un'esperienza a sé stante, che si snoda attraverso boschi rigogliosi e paesaggi mozzafiato. Non è una passeggiata eccessivamente impegnativa, ma richiede comunque un po' di spirito d'avventura e scarpe da trekking adeguate.

⛰️ La storia dell'eremo è legata a doppio filo alla figura di Pietro da Morrone, il futuro Papa Celestino V. Si racconta che Pietro, alla ricerca di un luogo di solitudine e meditazione, scelse proprio questa grotta come sua dimora. Qui visse per molti anni, dedicandosi alla preghiera e alla penitenza, e fondò l'ordine dei Celestini.

🥾 L'Eremo di Sant'Onofrio è molto più di una semplice escursione. È un viaggio nel tempo, un tuffo nella spiritualità e nella natura incontaminata dell'Abruzzo. Un luogo dove ritrovare se stessi e riconnettersi con l'essenziale.

🏞 The Hermitage of Sant'Onofrio is located in the heart of the Maiella National Park, near Sulmona. The trail to reach it is an experience in its own right, winding through lush forests and breathtaking landscapes. It’s not an overly demanding hike, but it still requires a bit of an adventurous spirit and proper hiking shoes.

⛰️ The history of the hermitage is deeply intertwined with the figure of Pietro da Morrone, the future Pope Celestine V. Story has it that Pietro, searching for a place of solitude and meditation, chose this very cave as his home. He lived here for many years, dedicating himself to prayer and penance, and founded the Celestine order.

🩵 Benvenuti a Fondo della Salsa!

🏔 Un tuffo nel cuore dell'Abruzzo selvaggio. Ci troviamo per l'esattezza nel territorio di Castelli (TE), proprio ai piedi della monumentale parete nord del Monte Camicia, nel Parco Nazionale del Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga.

🏞 Questa foto cattura la grandiosità di questa conca montuosa, incastonata tra le vette dell'Appennino centrale. La parete rocciosa, imponente e selvaggia, domina il paesaggio con i suoi oltre mille metri di salto verticale, mentre i boschi circostanti offrono un contrasto verdeggiante e un rifugio per la fauna locale.

💚 Rocca Calascio

🏔 Siamo in provincia dell'Aquila, nel cuore del Parco Nazionale del Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga. Quella che vedete nella foto non è "solo" una rocca spettacolare, ma è la fortificazione più alta d'Italia! Si trova a ben 1.460 metri di quota, e vi assicuriamo che quando si arriva quassù, il vento tra i capelli e il panorama a 360 gradi sulle montagne abruzzesi lasciano letteralmente senza fiato.

🏰 Il nucleo centrale risale all'anno mille, nato come semplice torre di avvistamento, mentre le quattro torri circolari che vedete ai lati sono state aggiunte qualche secolo dopo, nel XV secolo. Immaginate i soldati dell'epoca che scrutavano l'orizzonte proprio da quelle feritoie!

🎬 Questa meraviglia ha stregato anche Hollywood! È stata infatti il set di film cult indimenticabili, primo tra tutti Ladyhawke (1985). Potete quasi intravedere lo spirito del capitano Navarre e di Isabeau tra queste pietre...

💚 Rocca Calascio

🏔 We are in the province of L'Aquila, in the heart of the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park. What you see in the photo is not "just" a spectacular fortress, but the highest fortification in Italy! It stands at an impressive 1,460 meters above sea level, and we promise you that once you get up here, the wind in your hair and the 360-degree view over the Abruzzo mountains will literally take your breath away.

🏰 The central core dates back to the year 1000, starting out as a simple watchtower, while the four circular towers you see on the sides were added a few centuries later, in the 15th century. Just imagine the soldiers of that era scanning the horizon right from those arrow slits!

🎬 This wonder has also enchanted Hollywood! In fact, it was the set for unforgettable cult movies, first and foremost Ladyhawke (1985). You can almost glimpse the spirit of Captain Navarre and Isabeau among these stones...

💚 Un Borgo Sospeso Nel Tempo: Frattura Vecchia

🥾 Se state cercando un’escursione in Abruzzo che unisca natura selvaggia e memoria storica, questo borgo fantasma è una tappa obbligatoria. Frattura Vecchia, frazione di Scanno, sembra letteralmente aggrappata alle pendici del Monte Genzana, affacciata sulla suggestiva Valle del Sagittario. 🧭

🏔 Il destino di questo luogo è legato a un momento preciso: il 13 gennaio 1915, il giorno del devastante terremoto della Marsica. In pochissimi secondi il paese venne quasi completamente distrutto, spingendo gli abitanti ad abbandonarlo per ricostruire, anni dopo, l'attuale Frattura Nuova poco più a valle.

✨️ Oggi camminare tra queste case scoperchiate, dove la natura si sta lentamente riprendendo i suoi spazi, regala un'atmosfera incredibile. Le montagne innevate sullo sfondo fanno da cornice a un panorama che toglie il fiato, specialmente con le luci del tardo pomeriggio.

È un percorso semplice e accessibile, perfetto per chi ama il trekking lento e i luoghi segreti.

💚 A Village Frozen In Time: Frattura Vecchia

🥾 If you are looking for a hike in Abruzzo that blends wild nature and rich history, this ghost town is an absolute must-visit. Frattura Vecchia, a small hamlet of Scanno, is literally clinging to the slopes of Mount Genzana, overlooking the breathtaking Sagittario Valley.

🏔 The destiny of this village was sealed on a single day: January 13, 1915, during the devastating Marsica earthquake. In just a few seconds, the village was almost completely destroyed, forcing the survivors to abandon it and later rebuild the current village, Frattura Nuova, a bit further down the valley.

✨️ Today, walking among these roofless stone houses—where nature is slowly reclaiming its space—creates an incredible, surreal atmosphere. The snow-capped mountains in the background frame a view that takes your breath away, especially in the late afternoon light.

It’s an easy and accessible trail, perfect for anyone who loves slow trekking and discovering hidden gems.

💚 Accompagnarvi lungo i sentieri del nostro Abruzzo è sempre un piacere. Leggere che avete passato una bella giornata, che vi siete goduti la natura e che vi siete sentiti al sicuro (anche nei tratti un po' più faticosi!) è la soddisfazione più grande per chi fa il mio lavoro.

🏞 I nostri paesaggi sono splendidi, ma sono le chiacchiere lungo il cammino, le risate e la condivisione a rendere ogni escursione speciale. E con i gruppi che si formano qui, si va sempre sul sicuro.

💚 Il Cuore Verde" d'Abruzzo: la Valle dell'Orfento!
A Caramanico Terme (PE) puoi trovare la riserva naturale più iconica del Parco Nazionale della Majella. Questa valle non è solo un posto da fotografare, è un’esperienza che ti rimette al mondo. Ecco perché dovresti allacciare gli scarponi e venirci il prima possibile.

🏞 Sono due i sentieri che puoi scegliere per ammirare questa valle:
Sentiero delle Scalelle: Breve, scenografico e perfetto per una scarica di bellezza immediata tra ponticelli di legno e pareti di roccia a strapiombo.
Sentiero dello Spirito: Per chi vuole immergersi nel silenzio e scoprire la storia degli eremi della zona.

🥾 Camminerete lungo il fiume Orfento, circondati da una vegetazione così f***a da sembrare una giungla appenninica. Tenete gli occhi aperti! Tra le felci e i faggi potreste avvistare la mitica Salamandrina dagli occhiali.

L'accesso alla Valle è gratuito ma è obbligatoria la registrazione (anche gratuita) presso il Centro Visite di Caramanico.

💚 Eremo di San Bartolomeo in Legio, un gioiello letteralmente incastonato nella roccia nel cuore della Majella, vicino a Roccamorice.

🏔 Provate a immaginare un luogo dove la storia e la natura si fondono così perfettamente che quasi non si distinguono: un sentiero scavato nella pietra, un soffitto di roccia viva sopra la testa e quel camminamento stretto che ti regala una vista pazzesca. Il panorama è semplicemente mozzafiato, con il Vallone di Santo Spirito che si apre davanti a voi in tutta la sua selvaggia bellezza.

Provate a immaginare un luogo dove la storia e la natura si fondono così perfettamente che quasi non si distinguono: un sentiero scavato nella pietra, un soffitto di roccia viva sopra la testa e, tutto intorno, un silenzio che rigenera l'anima.

💚 Ecco uno scatto fresco fresco dalle incredibili Gole di San Venanzio! Una meraviglia naturale incastonata nel cuore dell'Abruzzo. Se non le conoscete, immaginate un canyon spettacolare dove l'acqua del fiume Aterno si fa strada tra pareti di roccia altissime!

🌿 La primavera qui è un'esperienza sensoriale! I boschi circostanti esplodono di un verde così brillante che sembra finto, i fiori selvatici colorano i sentieri e il profumo di terra bagnata e piante aromatiche vi accompagnerà per tutto il percorso. È il momento perfetto per una passeggiata rigenerante, lontano dal caos e immersi nel suono rilassante del fiume.

💚 Nel cuore della Valle dell'Orfento

🥾 Camminare lungo le sponde del fiume Orfento significa immergersi in un vero e proprio paradiso primordiale, tra mu**hi verdissimi, acque cristalline che scavano la roccia e il canto costante dell'acqua.

Questa gola, situata nel versante occidentale della Majella, è una delle aree più spettacolari e protette dell'Appennino.

🏔 La Valle dell'Orfento si trova nel comune di Caramanico Terme (PE), all'interno del Parco Nazionale della Majella. È il luogo perfetto per chi cerca frescura e rigenerazione totale.
Uno dei percorsi più belli è l'Anello delle Scalelle. È un sentiero di difficoltà facile/escursionistica che parte proprio dal borgo e scende nel canyon tramite scale e ponticelli di legno, costeggiando il fiume per tutto il tragitto.
