A Unique Gem on Lake Orta, Italy

Villa Antica Colonia is a very special place, owned by Monica and run by her dedicated staff, Marisa and Olinella. We stayed on the top floor in Casa Elda, named in honor of Monica's mom, who together with her father, really transformed the property in the 1950s. Today, it is a beautiful, modern facility that blends perfectly into its historic building and environs. We spent four nights at the Villa. Elda has wrap-around 180 degree views of Lake Orta and a great balcony on which to enjoy the views. Incredibly beautiful. The suite (huge) was clean and the kitchen, which we used extensively, was equipped with everything you would need. Breakfasts arrive at your door each morning. Such wonderful, plentiful fresh food and ingredients. I had a wonderful 90 minute treatment in the Villa's spa, run by Denise. She is special, so knowledgable about connection between mind/body. I would highly recommend a massage/treatment with her while there. Only kudos. Amazing place and staff.

Ein Ort der der Seele Frieden und Schönheit schenkt

Wir haben vom 14. bis 18. August ein verlängertes Wochenende in der Villa Antica Colonia verbracht und uns dort unglaublich gut erholt.

Das wunderschöne Anwesen liegt hoch über dem Ortasee und bietet einen Ausblick, den man kaum in Worte fassen kann. Die Ruhe, die Schönheit des Sees und die besondere Atmosphäre schenken einem vom ersten Moment an ein tiefes Gefühl von Frieden und Glück. Wir haben jede einzelne Minute dort sehr genossen.

Gewohnt haben wir im Apartment Monica, das nach der Besitzerin der Villa benannt ist. Es war wunderschön und sehr gemütlich eingerichtet – mit einem klimatisierten Schlafzimmer, einer kleinen Küche mit Esstisch, einem tollen Wohlfühlbad mit großzügiger Dusche und nahezu überall diesem traumhaften Blick auf den See.

Unser absoluter Lieblingsplatz war jedoch der wunderschöne Balkon. Dort haben wir die meiste Zeit verbracht und einfach nur den Ausblick und die Ruhe genossen.

Am Morgen bin ich noch vor dem Frühstück zum Pool gegangen, den ich ganz für mich allein hatte. Nach ein paar erfrischenden Bahnen wartete vor unserer Apartmenttür bereits ein wunderbares Frühstück vom ortsansässigen Feinkosthändler. Am Vorabend konnten wir auf einer Liste auswählen, was wir gerne essen möchten. Es gab warmes Baguette, frische Eier, Wurst, Schinken, Käse, herrlich frisches Obst, Bio-Joghurt, Saft und viele weitere Leckereien. Dieses Frühstück mit Blick über den Ortasee zu genießen, war einfach unvergesslich.

Auch Monica ist eine ganz wunderbare Gastgeberin – herzlich, freundlich und jederzeit hilfsbereit. Sie gab uns schöne Tipps und reservierte uns für den Abend einen Tisch in einer Trattoria nur wenige Häuser entfernt. Dort konnten wir köstliche italienische Spezialitäten genießen. Wir träumen heute noch nicht nur von dem traumhaften Ausblick, sondern auch von dem fantastischen Risotto!

Die Villa Antica Colonia ist sowohl für eine längere Ferienwoche als auch für eine kurze Auszeit ein ganz besonderer Ort. Wir können diese Unterkunft von Herzen empfehlen und würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Eine ganz klare 10 von 10!
