From 12 to 20 September 2026, Lake Como becomes a stage for contemporary design, architecture and creative culture with the eighth edition of Lake Como Design Festival.

This year’s theme, “Border”, explores the idea of boundaries not only as lines of separation, but as places of encounter, exchange and transformation. Across Como and Lecco, exhibitions, installations and talks bring together different perspectives on design and contemporary creativity.

Among the festival’s most evocative settings is Villa del Grumello, overlooking the lake and surrounded by an elegant historic park. Here, from 13 to 20 September, the exhibition Future in the Past invites visitors to look at the past as a source of inspiration to be reinterpreted through contemporary design, while the park itself hosts In Nature, an exhibition journey combining photography, storytelling and landscape.

Tomorrow, on Sunday, 6 September 2026, Venice will celebrate one of its most captivating traditions: the Regata Storica.

With origins dating back to the 13th century, this centuries-old event brings the Grand Canal to life in a spectacular celebration of Venice’s deep connection with the water and its remarkable maritime heritage.

The afternoon begins with the historic parade, as richly decorated 16th-century boats, gondoliers in period costume and figures representing the Serenissima glide along the Grand Canal, recalling the ceremonial welcome of Caterina Cornaro, Queen of Cyprus, in 1489.

Then come the regattas themselves, where the tradition of voga alla veneta takes centre stage in one of the city’s most authentic and deeply rooted spectacles.
