And if I were to
tell you that all of this existed long before it could be photographed? If I were to tell you that this place still lives a timeless existence? If I were to tell that this is what Tuscany is…and that it can be yours? Each time I come here to my estate-farm I remember the stories my father, Andrea, told me, grabbing a fistful of soil as if he wanted to squeeze out all of its emotions. Before him, part of these lands belonged to his father Luigi, and today, I fix my gaze on it, and see my own future in the distance. Decade after decade these lands have been giving good harvests and fine olive oil to men who are willing to work. The farmer who used to tend the crops said that the trouble with the land is that it is low…and that it makes you sweat. But, looking ahead, he always said that sooner or later we would all go back to farming. Now, with lots of sacrifice and increasingly sophisticated tools, we have people who help us get the best from our land, and we do everything possible so that we can share this excellence with as many people as possible. I Cipressini is not only a farm, it is a company that is growing and courageously investing in itself. For the past twenty years – at least – businesses of all sizes and in all fields have been using the image of the main house for advertising and marketing. The image is a symbol of Tuscany and its essence, and you will find it in every newsstand, on postcards, in guidebooks and on souvenirs. One day an old friend sent us a postcard from China with a picture of our house. And ever since then a dream has been floating in my mind: to make the most famous image of Tuscany into a destination for guests from all over the world. That is why I decided to make I Cipressini into an agritourism estate. My father helped me with my dream, as did my mother, Elisabetta who supported my ideas with love. So I began this business that gives me the opportunity to meet people of all nationalities, languages and traditions. This gives me enormous satisfaction that goes well beyond “just business”.
