2 Giungo ⛱ The 2nd of June is a holiday in Italy and for many it’s the first beach day of the year. This is near Savelletri (about 45 minutes from Bari) it’s pretty big so never feels too crowed, there are special areas for kids and dogs and access to the sea is through the little sandy beach, stairs directly into the sea or diving board. In June two beds and an umbrella cost €50.

Although the food in Emilia-Romagna was amazing nothing quite beats Puglia. Happy to be home ❤️

.bio is definitely off the beaten track and is a great place to grab something to eat if you’re spending a day near the city beach. An organic grocery shop/restaurant, buo sells and creates great traditional Puglian dishes. They also often have theme cuisine evenings if you’re searching for something different.

CONVERSANO: is one of Puglia's 10 Michelin starred restaurants. Set in a beautiful corner of Conversano, this well priced luxury restaurant offers 3 set menus, each varying in dishes and size. We chose the €90 Gesti menu and the food never stopped. These are just a selection of the dishes. Each one interesting and delicious. My favourite being the peach cream dessert. The service was also impeccabile and we were made to feel really special ❤️

BARI: la bul hides behind this door in an nondescript street in Bari. It's chef Antonio Scalera has won many awards and so has the restaurant. There is an al a carte menu or two tasting menus. We ordered the 4 plate €55 menu with €15 3 glasses of wine. Portions were on the laughable side but flavors were good, especially the mushroom pasta. A good place if you're looking for something a little fancier than a typical trattoria.

OSTUNI: my full review of is finally on pugliaplates.com. Along with other great places to stay all over Puglia! This really was one of my favourite masserias to far. So peaceful and southern italian hospitality at its best 💙

GARGANO: Puglia or Thailand? 💙
Baia delle Zagare is a little cove on the south coast of Gargano. It's secluded and feels like something from a James bond film. I imagine in summer this small stretch of beach is packed but on a late September Sunday we had it almost to ourselves. Access is through two of the hotels above the beach that lead down winding stone staircases. There is a small lido where you can rent beds and a bar/restaurant or the free beach (parking is €10). The water is beautiful but deep and we did spot a few jellyfish so maybe not the best for families.

ALBEROBELLO: is a secret garden in the world of trulli. Hidden out the back of this restaurant is a vegetable garden where you can eat your lunch 1 meter from where it was grown. The menu consists of different options which all include an antipasti of the vegetables from the orto plus other pasta and meat dishes. The prices are higher than other areas but that's Alberobello in general and the setting is definitely special.

I'm home 💙

Stretching out the final days of summer. is a beautiful lido in the ruins of an ancient port. Which means that the snorkeling and diving are great. There's a sandy beach but also these beautiful secret natural pools. There's a bar with great fresh food and good music.
