The Beach

Cala Biriala is one of the jewels of the Gulf of Orosei, nestled between Cala Mariolu to the south and Cala Esuili to the north.

The Village

Montevecchio is a small mining village located in the province of South Sardinia, exactly between Guspini and Arbus. Famous for its blende and galena mines, today it is an industrial archaeology site and part of the Geomineral Park of Sardinia.

Genna Serapis

The mines were active from 1848 to 1991 and were among the most important in Italy and the most productive in Europe. Just think that in 1865 it employed more than 1100 workers. The mining complex includes several historic buildings, including the Palazzo della Direzione and the Laveria Principe Tomaso, which you can discover through guided tours.

The Great Wall

The Muru Mannu waterfall is located in Medio Campidano, in the southwest of Sardinia. With its 70-meter drop, it is the highest on the island and shows its best especially during the rainy season, when the water flow is at its peak.

The Trek

The path to reach the waterfall passes through an impressive forest of holm oaks and holly trees and winds between imposing granite walls. The stream that feeds the waterfall, the Muru Mannu channel, originates at about 1000 meters of altitude and flows for 5 km before plunging into the final drop.

The Complex

The Nuraghe Piscu is one of the most majestic and well-preserved archaeological testimonies of the Nuragic civilization in Sardinia. It is located in Suelli, in the subregion of Trexenta, and dates back to the period between the 15th and 11th centuries BCE.

Characteristics

It consists of a central tower nine meters high and four corner towers, all connected by walls. Inside the square-shaped bastion with sides of about thirty meters, there is a courtyard. Around the nuraghe, there are the remains of a village with circular and quadrangular huts.

Record

The Su Marmuri cave is located near Ulassai and, with its 850 meters in length, is one of the most impressive caves in Europe. This karst cave was formed about 150 million years ago and offers a breathtaking display of stalactites and stalagmites.

The Visit

The visit to the cave lasts about an hour and a half and takes place along a flat path that crosses several spectacular chambers. Among these are “The Great Hall” with its 72 meters in length and 30 meters in width, and the “Cactus Hall” where you will find two tall stalagmites that resemble cactus plants.

The Complex
The archaeological site of Lu Brandali dates back to the 14th–10th century BC and includes a Giants’ Tomb, a Nuraghe, and a village.
The site also features an exhibition on Nuragic archaeology, where visitors can enhance their experience through 3D viewers and audio-tactile pathways.

History
The site was discovered in the 1960s, and excavations have uncovered numerous artifacts that provide valuable insight into the life of Nuragic populations.
In particular, around 50 burials were found in the Giants’ Tomb, while the village yielded a variety of tools and everyday objects.
