Nobody warns you how much effort it takes to finally rest.

It’s not just the travel: the 21 hairpin curves up the mountain, the flights, the trains. It’s everything before that too. Asking for the time off. Finding someone to watch the kids, the pets, the plants. A real commitment before you’ve even arrived.

So once you do, our job is simple: help your nervous system believe it’s safe to let go. As fast as possible.

Our amethyst walkway is one of those things, Walk through it on arrival and you’ll feel it. That pull to soften, the moment you step in. Crystals hold that kind of energy. So does earth. And we happen to sit on a mountaintop with a few ancient ley lines running through it (a story for another day).

By the time you reach reception, you’ve already started to arrive.

There’s a particular kind of light that autumn gives before it steps aside: golden, low, unhurried. Soon the garden will change its rhythm, the mountain air will sharpen, and the lake will take on that steel-blue tone winter always brings.

It feels like the right moment to pause before the season turns. December carries its own kind of stillness season, shorter days, longer evenings, a natural invitation to slow down.

Few spaces remain open for anyone wishing to close the year differently!

For a while now, something has been taking shape at Mandali: a wish to travel closer to the roots of what we practice and share here. That wish now has a name: Mandali Sacred Journeys.

Over the years, it will carry us to different sacred lands, tracing where these practices first came from.

India is where we begin: twelve days between Delhi, Rishikesh, Agra and Bharatpur, with daily practice held by Daniele Rabozzi, and encounters along the way with local teachers who know this land from within.

There is a kind of relief in that letting go. In meeting the day, the mood, the moment, exactly as it arrives, rather than as we wished it would. Perhaps that’s the practice: not forcing things into shape, but noticing what’s already there.

Eckhart Tolle built his teaching around a single invitation: to stop resisting what is already here. Not to ignore it, not to judge it. Simply to recognise it.

Many people come to Mandali in an in-between moment. Maybe this summer was one of those times for you too, a space between an ending and a new beginning, or it feels like it?

You don’t need to have it all figured out. Plans change. Ideas shift. That’s not a detour, that’s just life unfolding.

Are you giving yourself time to sit with what’s changing? To notice the beauty in this quiet, in-between moment, and to appreciate how this year unfolded so far?

We hope this summer gave you real me-time, space to care for yourself, and to let a little magic in. Wishing you all a happy and loving Sunday from Mandali.

For this Mandali Book Pick, we asked a few people from our team which books they carry with them, the ones they return to, or the ones that simply stayed 💛

- Trusting the Gold (picked by Marije Paternotte, yoga teacher): a reflection on the goodness within us, and how it shapes the way we meet others.
- The Creative Act (picked by our Fidan, marketing team): creativity as a daily practice.
- Shantaram (picked by our , vision holder): a story of freedom, found through connection.

Which of these three would you pick up first?

The breath is always within reach. Two simple ways to work with it, from our practice series.

Nasal breathing — inhaling through the nose filters, warms and humidifies the air, while raising nitric oxide production to support oxygen uptake and cardiovascular health.

Physiological sigh — two short inhales through the nose, followed by one long exhale through the mouth. This pattern clears excess carbon dioxide, improves oxygen exchange and settles the nervous system within moments.

Both take five minutes or less. No mat, no music, no particular place required. Thanks to our Mario Santoni for having shared these two quick, yet effective, techniques.

More free practices live in our highlights, save them for when you most need them 💛

As autumn arrives and the leaves begin to turn, this retreat is an invitation to come back into rhythm — with a special workshop guided by Elena Teixidor, weaving voice, breath, sound, and ritual into each day.

Twice-daily yoga and meditation, nature walks, and space to move at your own pace, alongside a journey that opens with the body and closes with a fire ceremony as the season shifts.
