A very relaxing green area very easy to reach by taking the metro.

If you have a chance, you should admire the Roman sunset from this place.

🔸 Which one is your favorite season to visit Rome?

There is no wrong answer. The eternal city is beautiful any day of the year under any circumstances.

☀️ Summer is a perfect time to walk along the river, sit on a terrace and get a gelato at Piazza Navona or admiring the Pantheon.
🌿 Spring time is the time to visit any of the many parks that you can find in Rome, maybe rent a bicycle for an alternative day in the city.
❄️ Winter and the Christmas lights that illuminate the streets at the city center. A great time to visit the city with your family.
🍁 Autumn and the smell of roasted chestnuts in the streets. A lovely time to relax. Even with the rain Rome can be stunning.

⚫️ Some parts of the walls of the Colosseum were used to create other Roman buildings
back on the day, such as Saint Peter's Basilica.

🟠 The Colosseum welcomes an average of 5 million visitors, it ranks as the most visited monument in Italy followed by Pompeii, The Uffizi Museum and the Accademia Gallery.

⚫️ It was Hell. During the ancient times, the Colosseum was considered to be one of the seventh ports to access hell as numerous people died within the building.

Why Rome is called the Eternal City?

📌So many artists, poets, and writers have referred to our city as Eternal, due to its majesty, its glorious accomplishments or its history throughout the years.

Nonetheless, the first and oldest testimony that we have in which Rome it is defined as Eternal is from a reference made in the 1st century BC, it was the poet Tibullus who used the following verses:

"Romulus Aeternae nondum formaverat Urbis moenia"

Translated as: "Neither had Romulus erected the walls of the Eternal Urbe"

🔸"What we do in life echoes in eternity."
-
Who hasn't heard this famous quote from the movie Gladiator? But the truth is that this popular epic story directed by Ridley Scott is also full of historical inaccuracies.

For example, during the film they refer to the arena as the Colosseum but the building was known as the "Flavian Amphitheater" in the ancient Rome. 👎

Commodus (portrayed by Joaquin Phoenix) didn't kill his father as shown in the film and also he himself didn't die at the arena.

You can find out more during one of our tours, the Colosseum is full of curiosities you probably never heard about.
