: Rocca Calascio castle

Rocca Calascio, a small hamlet in the Abruzzo town of Calascio, is an ancient but fascinating village of medieval origins that stands on a hill at 1460 meters above sea level. Located about three kilometers from the municipality of Calascio, Rocca Calascio houses a fortress that was built around the twelfth century in a strategic position that allowed it to control the Abruzzo valleys. This place, in fact, was a crucial military observation point that made it possible to spot any enemy attacks and was also in communication with the other watchtowers in the area. Over the years, unfortunately, the fortress was gradually abandoned until the 1980s when this locality was rediscovered and enhanced again. The Castle of Rocca Calascio has undergone restoration work while some houses in the ancient medieval village have been converted into accommodation facilities.

👩🌼Ladies and flowers. A natural binomium that finds its consecration on March 8, Women's Day. A souvenir that has a yellow and fragrant symbol: the mimosa, a flower that transmits strength and delicacy at the same time, perfectly representing, therefore, the female character. In 1946 the women of the UI (Unione Women Italiane) had to choose the mimosa as a symbol of the first Women's Day of the Postwar, a flower that bloomed in early March and had the advantage of being inexpensive: perfect for the occasion. Nothing has changed since then, yellow continues to be the color of the Women's Day thanks to the mimosa.

This white cliff is located along the stretch of the sea between Realmonte and Porto Empedocle (Agrigento in Sicily) and its rock is made of a soft, limestone and blinding white marl.
