Starting on early XVIIth, one way in which the Church of Rome reacted to the Protestants ( " Christian Reformed Churches" ) was to create incredible luxury Churches, fully ornate.

It has been the Architectural triumph of Rome against the so called " Heresies "; this meant also the Baroque in Rome and the City of Rome had its main interpreters: Gian Lorenzo Bernini and Francesco Borromini.
