📍 Addossato alla chiesa di San Giorgio in Velabro, il cosiddetto Arco degli Argentari fu costruito nel 204 d.C. come porta d’ingresso del Foro Boario.
🏦 Fu finanziato dai cambiavalute, banchieri (argentarii) e mercanti del luogo e dedicato a Settimio Severo, Giulia Domna e Caracalla.
🗡 I nomi e le figure di altri familiari, poi caduti in una feroce lotta di potere, furono cancellati dal monumento.

📍 Adjacent to the church of San Giorgio in Velabro, the so-called Arch of the Argentarii was built in 204 AD as the entrance gate to the Forum Boarium.
🏦 It was financed by local money changers, bankers (argentarii) and merchants and dedicated to Septimius Severus, Julia Domna and Caracalla.
🗡 The names and figures of other family members, who later fell victim to a fierce power struggle, were removed from the monument.

📍 Il sacello di San Zenone nella basilica di Santa Prassede è forse il più importante monumento bizantino conservato a Roma.
🔎 Voluto da Pasquale I nel IX secolo come mausoleo funerario della madre Teodora, prende nome dalle spoglie di San Zenone trasferite qui dal papa.
✨ Gli splendidi mosaici dell’interno culminano nella volta con la figura del Salvatore entro un medaglione sorretto da quattro angeli.

📍 The Chapel of Saint Zeno in the Basilica of Santa Prassede is perhaps the most important Byzantine monument preserved in Rome.
🔎 Commissioned by Pope Paschal I in the 9th century as the funerary mausoleum for his mother Theodora, it takes its name from the relics of Saint Zeno, which the pope had transferred here.
✨ Inside, the splendid mosaics inside culminate in the vault with the figure of the Savior within a medallion supported by four angels.
