The beach holiday is getting a q***r upgrade, and frankly, SPF is now the biggest concern. World Rainbow Hotels takes LGBTQIA+ travellers to Saint Barthélemy, Koh Phangan, Saint Lucia and the Cayman Islands, where private villas, sea-view pools and very short walks to the sand set the agenda. Hotel Manapany and Anantara Rasananda lead the barefoot glamour; Windjammer Landing and Beach Suites bring Caribbean heat. Packing light remains entirely optional.

Which one deserves your most dramatic out-of-office?

Mykonos has been flirting with LGBTQ+ travellers for decades, and The TownHouse Mykonos knows exactly how to play along. Whitewashed suites and private terraces overlook Mykonos Town, while the rooftop is dangerously good at turning “one drink before we go out” into several.

You’re close enough to the island’s q***r nightlife to join the party, with a very attractive reason to eventually come home.

Who’s getting the invite?

A country weekend should be one of the easiest trips to take as an LGBTQ+ couple. Tudor Farmhouse in Clearwell offers exactly that, with 20 rooms in a former 13th-century farm, good food, gardens and the Forest of Dean on the doorstep.

As a World Rainbow Hotels member, it also comes with something less visible but equally important: the confidence that LGBTQ+ guests are genuinely welcome.

Who are you taking for the weekend?

Ubud’s quieter side is making a stronger case for LGBTQIA+ travellers who want privacy, culture and space over Bali’s louder beach clubs. Tanah Gajah has just 24 villas across six hectares of rice paddies, many with private pools, plus Balinese art, wellness rituals and daily sunset cocktails.

For q***r couples, that combination of intimacy and independence can make a luxury stay feel genuinely personal. Would you swap Bali’s coast for Ubud?

The Social Hub Amsterdam West treats the hotel less as somewhere to disappear into and more as somewhere to plug into the city.

Fifteen minutes from central Amsterdam, it mixes bedrooms with coworking, a bar, games areas, events and shared spaces designed for actual interaction.
For LGBTQ+ travellers, that social element matters, especially on solo trips or longer stays when a lobby with life beats another anonymous check-in.

Would you rather stay somewhere social or keep the hotel to yourself?

September is one of Italy’s smartest months for LGBTQ+ travel.

The Amalfi Coast keeps the sea and late-summer energy without August’s intensity, while Milan returns to fashion mode and Rome becomes easier to explore on foot.

Hotels with rooftop pools, garden courtyards and strong design feel particularly relevant now, giving each stop a different pace. It is Italy with fewer compromises, better temperatures and more room to enjoy the places properly.

Where would you spend September in Italy?

Fulham Pier Hotel adds a small-scale riverside stay to west London, with 13 rooms and four suites overlooking the Thames.

Guests also have access to Lighthouse Social, with restaurants, bars, lounges and rooftop spaces within the same development. For LGBTQ+ travellers, the draw is a quieter London base with Chelsea nearby, strong design and a social offer beyond the bedroom.

Would you swap Soho for Fulham on your next London trip?

La Clef Champs-Élysées puts Paris within easy reach, with the Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower and Avenue Montaigne all close by. Chanel, Dior and Louis Vuitton sit just minutes away, making it a strong base for fashion-focused city breaks.

Inside, the mood is calm, elegant and residential. For LGBTQ+ travellers looking for comfort, privacy and a central address, it offers an easy way to experience Paris while staying close to the city’s culture, shopping and nightlife.
