The magic door was built in the second half of 1600 by the Marquis Massimiliano Palombara Pietraforte, alchemist frequenter of the circle of Christina of Sweden. Legend has it that in 1600 an alchemist called "The Pilgrim" disappeared through the door, leaving the gold flakes reflecting the successful transformation by the philosopher's stone. The doors of the decorations that recall the alchemical tradition, and in particular the seal on the top of the door seems to have inspired the "Great Seal" of the United States. To support this theory marked Aureum Seculum Redivivum, ie The golden era is reborn, that resembles the Novus Ordo Seclorum present on dollar bills. La porta magica è stata eretta nella seconda metà del 1600 da Massimiliano Palombara Marchese di Pietraforte, alchimista frequentatore del circolo di Cristina di Svezia. La leggenda vuole che nel 1600 un alchimista chiamato "Il Pellegrino" sparì attraverso la porta lasciando delle pagliuzze d'oro a testimonianza della riuscita trasformazione a mezzo della pietra filosofale. La porta ha delle decorazioni che richiamano alla tradizione alchimistica e in particolare il sigillo sulla parte superiore della porta sembra aver ispirato il sigillo degli stati uniti. The church of Santa Maria del Popolo, where in Angels and Demons Robert Langdon goes to look for the "hole of the Devil", was built initially from a small chapel built by Pope Paschal II. Why that place near the walls, when they have so much space?

The answer is in the rituals of the church of Rome. In 1099, the year of construction of the chapel, there was the conquest of the Holy Sepulchre by the Crusaders and the building was part of a ritual of thanksgiving the victory.

The Pope, chose that point because the tradition indicated that there were two elements linked them to the devil: The tomb of Emperor Nero and the nut of the witches of Rome. The tree was cut down and the bones of Nero dispersed into the Tiber, but something still remains.

The hole of the devil, was probably built in the exact spot where it was uprooted walnut witches? Where does the hole which leads to the Chigi Chapel?

La chiesa di Santa Maria del Popolo, in cui nel romando Angeli e Demoni Robert Langdon va a cercare il "buco del Diavolo", fu edificata inizialmente partendo da una piccola ca****la voluta da Papa Pasquale II. Perchè quel luogo a ridosso delle mura, avendo a disposizione tanto spazio?

La risposta è nella ritualità della chiesa di Roma. Nel 1099, anno di edificazione della ca****la, vi fu la conquista del Santo Sepolcro da parte dei crociati e l'edificazione fu parte di un rito di ringraziamento della vittoria ottenuta.

Il Papa, scelse quel punto poichè la tradizione indicava che li vi fossero due elementi legati al demonio: La tomba dell'Imperatore Nerone e il noce delle streghe di Roma. L'albero fu abbattuto e le ossa di Nerone disperse nel Tevere, ma qualcosa, ancora oggi rimane.

Il buco del demonio, fu costruito forse nel punto esatto in cui fu sdradicato il noce delle streghe? Dove conduce il foro dal quale si accede alla ca****la Chigi?

The Esquiline Hill takes its name from "Aesculus" which in Latin is the oak tree for the forest that once stood at the top of this hill. On the hill stands the basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore (the picture), and was formerly called "Nere Esqulie" (Black Oaks) for the high presence of pagan rituals of witchcraft and witches' sabbath. According to legend, the sixth king of Rome Servius Tullius, was killed by his daughter Tullia, who struck him with a chariot race started from the top of the Esquiline Hill. Il colle Esquilino prende il suo nome da "Aesculus" che in latino è l'albero di rovere e stava ad indicare la foresta che sorgeva in cima a questo colle. Sul colle sorge la basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore e anticamente, era chiamato "Nere Esqulie" per l'alta presenza di rituali pagani e sabba di stregoneria. Secondo la leggenda, il sesto re di Roma Servio Tullio, fu ucciso da sua figlia Tullia, che lo investì con un carro in corsa partito dalla cima del colle Esquilino. Worldwide, the sculpture more used to decorate the fountains is the lion. It may be only the head or the whole lion, but always comes back as one of the most used. Why? What lies behind this tradition?

In tutto il mondo, la scultura più utilizzata per decorare le fontane è il leone. Può essere solo la testa o l'intero leone, ma ritorna sempre e comunque come uno dei temi più utilizzati. Perchè? Cosa si nasconde dietro a questa tradizione?
La risposta arriva dal cielo. Nel mese di Agosto, il mutare delle temperature, fa si che nel bacino del mediterraneo, dopo la prima decade del mese si abbiano forti acquazzoni. Gli antichi capirono che in quel periodo dell'anno i temporali alzavano il livello dei fiumi come ad esempio il Nilo, che trasportando il limo, rendeva fertile la terra. Durante il mese di Agosto, il sole sorge nella costellazione del Leone. L'accostamento tra il leone e l'abbondanza d'acqua nasce da questo. Interessante notare che la città di Venezia, che sorge interamente sull'acqua, ha come simbolo della città, proprio il leone.
