''Sala Vip, Casa da Música'' - Porto
_about: ''As the name implies, the VIP lounge was created to be a sort of calling card of Casa da Música, a distinguished and particularly formal space within the institution. However, it has been used mainly for small events such as press conferences, receptions, cocktails or even record releases.
It was first thought with the intent to establish a bridge between the Portuguese and Dutch cultures, not only by the fact that – with a seminal importance for the Casa da Música - Porto and Rotterdam have divided the status of European Capital of Culture in 2001, but also because Koolhaas, a Dutchman, was the author of the project of the most charismatic building of the modern city. This purpose was sought by applying tile panels originating from both countries, evoking a connection between Portuguese and Dutch potters and painters, which dates back to the beginning of the 16th century and develops until mid-17th century. The view from this room offers a very comprehensive perspective of the city of Porto, from the pinnacle of the Clerigos Church to the Atlantic Ocean.''
