Arancine or arancina? The age-old debate rages on.

While nearly every city in Sicily lays claim to their origin, it's the name that sparks intense discussions.

In western Sicily, particularly in Palermo, the preference leans towards 'arancina,' often associated with their round shape, since it literally means 'little orange'.

Yet, in the eastern part of the island, especially in Catania, they are known as 'arancino,' sporting a pointed shape, possibly inspired by the silhouette of Mount Etna.
