There’s something humbling about being a tourist.
I spend my days guiding people through the layers of Rome — its history, its contradictions, its endless depth. I sometimes forget what it feels like to simply wander without an agenda.
Verona reminded me.
I spent a day there with my colleague Giulia, who knows these streets the way I know the Roman Forum — intimately, generously. Being on the other side of a guided tour was a gift. It made me remember why this work matters: a good guide doesn’t just give you information, they give you a way of seeing.
I came back to Rome a better guide. And maybe a little more in love with this country.
If you’re ever in Verona, make sure to get in contact with Giulia
And if you’re ever in Rome — well, you know where to find me.

This morning I visited the exhibition “Bernini e i Barberini,” dedicated to the extraordinary relationship between Gian Lorenzo Bernini and the powerful Barberini family, the dynasty of Pope Urban VIII who played a crucial role in shaping Baroque Rome. The exhibition beautifully shows how art, power, and patronage were deeply intertwined, and how Bernini’s genius flourished under the protection and ambition of one of the most influential families of the 17th century.

I went with my dear friend Francesca, who taught me everything I know about this profession and showed me what it truly means to guide with passion and depth. And with my mother, who passed on to me the love for art by taking me, from a very young age, to exhibitions, churches, and museums.

Being there with both of them made the visit even more meaningful — a simple reminder of where my passion comes from and why I still love this job so much.

Low season, for me, is a time to slow down. Of course, it’s important to rest — but it’s also the moment when I can dedicate more time to studying and visiting exhibitions.
These quieter months are precious: they allow me to slow down, deepen my knowledge, and keep discovering Rome with fresh eyes.
Recently, I visited the beautiful exhibition “Greece in Rome.” The show explores the profound influence of Greek art and culture on ancient Rome, highlighting how Roman identity was shaped through admiration, collection, and reinterpretation of Greek masterpieces. From original sculptures to Roman copies of lost Greek works, the exhibition beautifully illustrates the cultural dialogue between the two civilizations.
Because being a guide also means never stopping learning — so that every tour can be richer, deeper, and more meaningful.

Starting today, February 2, visitors will need to pay a €2 ticket to access the Trevi Fountain. The measure, announced by the City of Rome in December, has now been officially confirmed.
It’s important to note that the Trevi Fountain will always remain visible to everyone. The only change is that access to the lower area, closer to the water basin, will become paid, while viewing the fountain from the surrounding area will remain free.
From a personal and professional point of view, I have mixed feelings about this decision. The Trevi Fountain has always been a public place, open to everyone, much like a square, and it’s understandable that this change may feel unusual to many visitors.
Another aspect worth paying attention to is that, already from the first days, unofficial resellers have appeared, offering tickets at much higher prices. This can create confusion for visitors, which is something we should try to avoid, especially in such an iconic and symbolic place.
As a guide, I believe clear information and proper management are essential to protect both the monument and the experience of those who come to admire it.

In this photo, my brother and I are hugging our mother. We’re in Palermo, and she’s consulting a guidebook to Sicily.
Even today, it’s a perfect representation of our family — and of .
From her, we learned a deep love for travel, curiosity, and exploration. She’s the one who taught us that places are stories waiting to be discovered.
She continues to be the pillar of our family, guiding us with the same passion and quiet strength that have always inspired everything we do.

People often ask me where I go on vacation.
The answer is always the same: quiet places, far from big crowds, where I can slow down and truly enjoy time in peace with my family.

The vacation we took this year was exactly that. No rush, no chaos — just simple moments, shared time, and the kind of calm that stays with you.
And it will forever remain among our most cherished memories.

Hidden in one of Rome’s most charming corners, the Chigi Chapel in Santa Maria della Pace is a true Renaissance gem that often goes unnoticed.

Commissioned by Agostino Chigi, one of the most powerful bankers of the 16th century, the chapel was designed by Raphael himself — and yes, it still takes your breath away today. From the perfect harmony of its architecture to the richness of its frescoes, every detail speaks of beauty, power, and ambition.
This is one of those places where Rome feels intimate and eternal at the same time. You step inside for a moment… and suddenly you’re standing in the heart of the Renaissance.

There’s a street in Rome that, for me, is more than just “cool.”
It’s Via Panisperna: this is where my mother lives and where our Mami’s Home journey began 13 years ago. 💛

Today, this street holds an impressive title: according to Time Out’s 2025 ranking, Via Panisperna is officially the coolest street in Italy, the sixth coolest in Europe, and 17th among the most fascinating and lived-in streets in the world.

Via Panisperna is a perfect blend of history and everyday Roman life — small shops, historic buildings, and corners that feel straight out of a movie. It’s not just a street you visit, it’s a street you experience.

If you want to discover the most authentic side of Rome, made of real stories and beloved places, you’re in the right place.
Follow me and let me guide you through the most beautiful (and real) streets of the Eternal City. ✨

On cold, rainy days like these at the beginning of the year, I love looking back at the wonderful summer holidays spent in Italy ☔✨
Sun-soaked landscapes, timeless cities, slow moments, shared smiles, and that unique Italian atmosphere that stays with you long after you leave 🇮🇹❤️
Those summer memories are a beautiful reminder of why Italy feels special in every season.
Winter may be quieter, but my thoughts are already wandering through warm days, golden light, and unforgettable moments.
Italy always knows how to leave a mark ✨

🚪✨ This little door usually leads from the Vatican Museums down into the Sistine Chapel…
Right now it’s closed—because, you know, secret cardinal business just wrapped up. 👀👑
But now that Habemus Papam, we look forward to the day it welcomes visitors once again!
