Italian nonnas have been doing this for generations🇮🇹
Slamming and working the dough helps develop the gluten, making it smoother, softer, and easier to roll out.
It’s also a pretty great stress-relief activity.
(Note: No pasta dough was harmed during our pasta making class)

Please don’t call crema catalana “Spanish crème brûlée” 😅🍮
They might look similar... but they’re definitely not the same.
Crema catalana is lighter, flavored with citrus and cinnamon, and traditionally caramelized with a hot iron instead of a blowtorch.
You can try it at Sucre Cremat in Barcelona, where it’s still made the traditional way.

Our guides aren’t fortune tellers... but they’ll happily read your coffee and give it their best shot 😄

Sh*t on the floor? 👀

If you see mussel shells, shrimp heads, olive pits, and toothpicks covering the floor of a pintxos bar in San Sebastián… don’t judge too quickly.

It’s not bad manners—it’s tradition.

For generations, locals have dropped the little leftovers from their pintxos straight onto the floor. It’s chaotic, a little shocking, and somehow part of the charm. Some even say the messier the floor, the better the bar. 🍷🍢

Would you go with the flow… or would you still be looking for a trash can? 😂

If you think caviar is overrated, try this first. 😍

Caviar de Neuvic is produced in the Dordogne region of France using sustainably farmed sturgeon. Instead of overpowering saltiness, you’ll get a clean, buttery flavor with delicate nutty notes. 🥂

The best way to enjoy it? Keep it simple. A spoonful of caviar on a warm blini with a touch of crème fraîche lets the flavor shine without distraction.

Elegant, surprisingly approachable, and absolutely worth trying at least once. ✨

Looking for a place to eat near Florence’s Duomo without the crowds? 😳
Fiaschetteria Nuvoli is one of those rare spots that still feels local, even though it’s just a short walk away.
Stop by for one of their delicious panini, enjoy a full Tuscan meal, or simply grab an aperitivo before continuing your day. Whatever you choose, you’ll find authentic flavors without the tourist crowds.

The most important paella rule in Spain 🥘🇪🇸
Paella may have originated in Valencia, but it’s become one of Spain’s most iconic dishes. So if you’re going to try one, there’s one thing you need to know...

If your paella is served in a tiny pan, it’s probably not the real deal. Traditionally, paella is cooked in a large, shallow pan and made for sharing.

One fun thing you shouldn’t miss in Naples 🍋
If you see a limonata a cosce aperte stand while you’re exploring the city, stop and try one.
A pinch of baking soda is added to fresh lemonade, creating a fizzy reaction. Just remember to drink it with your legs apart... unless you want to wear it instead😂
Messy? A little. Fun? 100%

The best fries in Amsterdam? We know the spot 🍟

Stop by Vleminckx📍They’ve been serving fries since 1957, and our local guide has one recommendation: oorlog sauce.
“Oorlog” means “war”, and it’s a delicious combination of mayonnaise, peanut sauce, and chopped onions. It sounds chaotic... but somehow it just works 😅

What’s the difference between ice cream and gelato? 🍦🇮🇹

Gelato is made with more milk and less cream, so it contains less fat than ice cream. (Basically... you can eat more 😏)
Ice cream’s higher cream content coats your taste buds, while gelato lets the flavors shine through. It’s also stored at a slightly warmer temperature, so it’s softer and ready to eat

To celebrate 15th birthday of Eating Europe, we asked our founder, Kenny, to settle one of Italy’s biggest food debates. Safe to say... he’s firmly on Team Gelato 🍨
