There are 140 statues standing above Bernini’s famous colonnade, representing saints and spiritual guides surrounding St. Peter’s Square. ✨

And there’s something rather beautiful about the setting: Bernini designed the colonnade as the welcoming arms of the Church, embracing everyone who enters. 🤍

So yes…a kiss here feels pretty holy. ❤️

Today, Rome celebrates Mary. 🤍✨

And there’s perhaps no better place to experience it than Basilica di Santa Maria in Trastevere ⛪️🌿

On August 15, Italy celebrates the Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, Ferragosto, one of the most important days of the Italian summer 🇮🇹☀️
