Republic Day (Festa della Repubblica) is celebrated in Italy every year on June 2nd to commemorate the birth of the Italian Republic.
On this date in 1946, a referendum was held in which Italian citizens — including women for the first time — voted to choose between a monarchy and a republic.
The majority chose the republic, marking the end of the monarchy of the House of Savoy.
Official celebrations take place in Rome, including:
-a military parade along the Via dei Fori Imperiali,
-the laying of a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Altare della Patria,
-and a flyover by the Frecce Tricolori, the Italian Air Force’s aerobatic team, displaying the colors of the national flag.
It is one of Italy’s most important national holidays.

La Festa della Repubblica si celebra il 2 giugno di ogni anno e commemora la nascita della Repubblica Italiana.
In questa data, nel 1946, si tenne un referendum istituzionale in cui gli italiani, per la prima volta anche le donne, furono chiamati a scegliere tra monarchia e repubblica.
Vinse la repubblica, segnando la fine della monarchia dei Savoia.
La celebrazione ufficiale si svolge a Roma, con:
-la parata militare ai Fori Imperiali,
-la deposizione di una corona di alloro al Milite Ignoto presso l’Altare della Patria,
-il sorvolo delle Frecce Tricolori con i colori della bandiera italiana.
È una delle principali feste civili dello Stato italiano.

روز جمهوری ایتالیا (Festa della Repubblica) هر سال در تاریخ ۲ ژوئن جشن گرفته می‌شود و یادآور تأسیس جمهوری ایتالیا است.
در این تاریخ در سال ۱۹۴۶، یک همه‌پرسی ملی برگزار شد که در آن شهروندان ایتالیایی – برای نخستین‌بار شامل زنان – بین نظام سلطنتی و جمهوری یکی را انتخاب کردند.
اکثریت به جمهوری رأی دادند و به این ترتیب، سلطنت خاندان ساووی پایان یافت.
مراسم رسمی در شهر رم برگزار می‌شود و شامل موارد زیر است:
رژه‌ی نظامی در خیابان تاریخی “فوری ایمپریالی”،
ادای احترام با تاج گل به آرامگاه سرباز گمنام در بنای “آلتاره دلا پاتریا”،
و پرواز نمایشی گروه فرچه تریکولوری (هواپیماهای نیروی هوایی ایتالیا) با دودی به رنگ پرچم ملی.
این روز یکی از مهم‌ترین تعطیلات ملی در ایتالیا به شمار می‌رود.
