Hidden beneath the bustle of modern Rome lies a secret world… 💧🏛️

Today we stepped underground into Vicus Caprarius — the “City of Water” tucked just steps from the Trevi Fountain.

Layers of history unfold beneath your feet: ancient apartments, a Roman reservoir still filled with crystal-clear water, and ruins that remind you how every inch of Rome is built on stories thousands of years old.

It’s quiet, cool, and completely magical — a hidden gem that makes you realise Rome isn’t just what you see… it’s what lies beneath. ✨

**🤍 Still in awe of St. Peter's Basilica 🤍**

Standing inside one of the most breathtaking churches in the world is something special… but climbing the dome? Next level.

After winding our way up what felt like endless narrow steps (worth it, promise!), we reached the top of St. Peter's Dome and were rewarded with the most incredible panoramic views across Rome and Vatican City. Terracotta rooftops, the Tiber winding through the city, and that unforgettable view over St. Peter’s Square below.

Inside, the scale is impossible to capture in photos — the detail, the light pouring through the windows, and masterpieces like Pieta quietly taking your breath away.

If you’re visiting Rome, put the dome climb on your list. Yes, your legs will feel it. Yes, the staircase gets tight. But the view from the top? Completely unforgettable.

Beneath the streets of Rome lies one of the most hauntingly beautiful places I’ve ever visited — the Capuchin Crypt 🕯️**

Tucked beneath Santa Maria della Concezione dei Cappuccini, this 17th-century crypt is decorated with the bones of over 3,000 Capuchin friars — arranged into chandeliers, arches and intricate patterns. It’s not meant to shock, but to remind visitors of life’s fragility and the Capuchin belief in humility and mortality.

One inscription reads:

“What you are now, we once were. What we are now, you shall be.”

Eerie. Reflective. Strangely peaceful.

A powerful stop if you’re exploring Rome and want to see something beyond the usual landmarks.
