If you’re heading to Paris this September or October, here are three events worth knowing about:

🏛️ European Heritage Days | September 19–20

For one weekend, Paris opens the doors to places that are usually off-limits including the Mayor’s office and grand reception rooms inside Hôtel de Ville. Entry is free, but advance registration is required.

You can also find special tours, workshops, exhibitions and behind-the-scenes experiences across the city, all celebrating Parisian history and heritage.

🎭 Montmartre Festival | September 25–27

Montmartre is throwing a party, and everyone’s invited.

Three days of festivities bring the neighborhood to life with a street carnival, live music, outdoor photography, markets, creative workshops, film screenings, DJ sets and more.

The highlight? The Pigalle Carnival on September 26, when street performers, circus artists and other entertainers take over the streets for a colorful parade through the neighborhood.

The Marie Antoinette exhibition opens September 22, 2026 and runs through January 24, 2027 at the Petit Trianon, where Marie Antoinette created her own private retreat away from the formality of court life.

The exhibition will take you behind the scenes of Sofia Coppola's film, with original costumes, accessories, mood boards, set elements, and a look at how the film's distinctive aesthetic came together.

If you're already planning a visit to Europe, this is a pretty good excuse to add Versailles to your itinerary.
