Buona Festa della Repubblica! 🇮🇹✨
On 2 June 1946, Italians made history by voting to establish the Italian Republic, shaping the nation we know today. Nearly 80 years later, Republic Day remains one of Italy's most important national celebrations..
If you're lucky enough to be in Rome today, you're in the best seat in the country. The city comes alive with military ceremonies, flag displays, official celebrations and the famous flyover of the Italian Air Force's Frecce Tricolori, painting the sky in green, white and red above the capital.
A few experiences not to miss:
📍 The Altare della Patria (Vittoriano), the heart of the official celebrations.
📍 The Imperial Forums and Via dei Fori Imperiali, where the military parade takes place.
📍 The Colosseum, where Rome's timeless history provides a spectacular backdrop to the festivities.
📍 The Pincian Terrace, one of the best viewpoints to admire the city and the celebrations from above.
Fun fact: Republic Day marks the first time Italian women participated in a national vote, making it a milestone not only in Italy's political history but also in the advancement of democracy and civic participation.
