Sagra dei Cuzzi co j'ajju

This weekend, the small and characteristic village of Roviano, in the outskirts of Rome, will host the "Sagra dei Cuzzi co j'ajju", the long-awaited summer event for food lovers of the region and beyond.

The typical, fresh pasta known as "cuzzo", which is traditionally handmade with a mixture of wheat flour, durum wheat, and maize, is the protagonist of this culinary event, and after one taste you'll understand why it is so celebrated.

The recipe has been handed down over the new generations and its peasant flavors have therefore remained authentic and unchanged. Topped with a pleasantly spicy sauce (but also, on request, with simple basil sauce), this sagra - food festival - represents a moment of sharing, celebration, and folklore.

The aim of the event is to make the traditions of the territory known and kept alive, as it is firmly believed that the region's history is an important part of its roots. Not only will the event feature this beloved pasta dish, but it will also revive all aspects of the traditional peasant life and customs.

The evening will be accompanied by musical entertainment and more for a fun filled event fit for the whole family!
