Sometimes the best part of an experience is the people you didn’t know you were going to meet.
I love this photograph because, to anyone else, it probably looks like a group of people having a wonderful evening.
To me, it looks like relationships.
Clients who became friends. Introductions that led to other introductions. People from different parts of my world who, somewhere along the way, became part of one another’s.
That’s what I mean by Creating the Room.
The most memorable experiences aren’t always about where you went.
They’re about what happened because you were there.
The person you met.
The story you heard.
The table you shared.
The conversation you never expected to have.
I’ve come to think of it as invisible architecture—bringing together people, place, culture and story in ways that create connection, discovery and belonging.
And sometimes, as this photograph rather perfectly demonstrates, the person creating the room isn’t standing in the middle of it.
She’s popping up from somewhere in the back.😂
