Our guests have arrived in Venice for the “pre-tour” to our upcoming small group trip to the Dolomites!

They arrived in style with a private boat ride from the airport to their accommodations.

After lunch and an authentic Italian siesta 👌🏼 they met up with their guide who brought them into small local w**e bars serving only the best Cicchetti!

What are cicchetti? Sliced bread with all kinds of possible toppings, mostly fish-based, that you wash down with a glass of w**e. It’s Venice’s answer to Spanish tapas!

🤩Our fav thing to do is introduce our travelers to amazing elders. 👵🏻👴🏼

This one ☝🏼 is named Giuseppino and he’s one of the last fisherman running an active trabucco.

What’s a trabucco?

🐠🎣Along the coast of Puglia and part of Abruzzo, they built these wooden structures jutting out into the sea so they could safely fish even when the seas were too dangerous to navigate by boat.

Our founder Sierra Dawn | Artist met him and his wife (now passed) in 2018 and loves going back to visit and hear his stories. 🥰

Giuseppino is now 93 and has better posture and mobility than most 70 year olds in some places 😝

We live for hidden gems! 😍👌🏼

Sierra, our Founder, just spent 2 days visiting our partners in the little-known corner of Puglia called Gargano and introducing next year’s tour leader, Alessandra, to our favorite people and places. 💗

But Alessandra isn’t new to Gargano- she spent her childhood summers camping along the seaside with her family here. ⛺️

🫣 Some people hate Venice. But they’re going there in the heat and most crowded time.

Venice in the off season- when the weather starts requiring an extra sweater in your bag or a full coat and scarf- is such a magical place. ✨🤗

🎉 9 years ago today, Creative Edge Travel became an officially registered business! 🇮🇹

It all started when our Founder, Sierra Busch Sierra Dawn | Artist , studied abroad in Cortona in 2011, making friends with locals who brought her deeper into the culture. 🏡

She felt what it’s like to be Italian rather than just snapping photos from the outside. 📸

She wanted to be the bridge for others to go straight into the heart of the authentic culture, too...

🍝 To linger over long meals with locals…
🏘️ discover incredible villages that haven’t changed for tourism...
🕯️ and participate in the traditions.

In turn, this would lessen the strain on overtouristed destinations and send travelers where their dollar makes a positive impact. 🌍💛

Through small group trips and custom travel planning, that’s exactly what we’ve done. ✨

It’s always been about slow, meaningful travel for those who care more about deeply experiencing a place than seeing as many places as possible. 🐌💫

☀️Tuscany but no tourist shops, no crowds, and no spots ruined by instagram. 🫩

🍃One of my favorite spots is this hidden valley in Tuscany- a nature-lover’s dream.

Green mountains. Gentle rivers. Ancient stone hamlets with mills and medieval bridges. 🌄

✨But if you time it right, you can also catch some fun festivities involving street food, live music, and…bagpipes! (unexpected, right? 🤣)

It’s truly an amazing little pocket where you can experience authentic Italy as it naturally is and simply BE in the culture. 👌🏼

🥰A very special experience for our very special guests during our Treasures of Florence (Women-Only Edition) small group trip.

Taking in the beauty of Florence from this unique angle was truly spectacular!

We got to experience the Arno River in historic Florentine boats which move by a long pole used to push off the bottom, like in Venice.
