🎉 9 years ago today, Creative Edge Travel became an officially registered business! 🇮🇹

It all started when our Founder, Sierra Busch Sierra Dawn | Artist , studied abroad in Cortona in 2011, making friends with locals who brought her deeper into the culture. 🏡

She felt what it’s like to be Italian rather than just snapping photos from the outside. 📸

She wanted to be the bridge for others to go straight into the heart of the authentic culture, too...

🍝 To linger over long meals with locals…
🏘️ discover incredible villages that haven’t changed for tourism...
🕯️ and participate in the traditions.

In turn, this would lessen the strain on overtouristed destinations and send travelers where their dollar makes a positive impact. 🌍💛

Through small group trips and custom travel planning, that’s exactly what we’ve done. ✨

It’s always been about slow, meaningful travel for those who care more about deeply experiencing a place than seeing as many places as possible. 🐌💫

☀️Tuscany but no tourist shops, no crowds, and no spots ruined by instagram. 🫩

🍃One of my favorite spots is this hidden valley in Tuscany- a nature-lover’s dream.

Green mountains. Gentle rivers. Ancient stone hamlets with mills and medieval bridges. 🌄

✨But if you time it right, you can also catch some fun festivities involving street food, live music, and…bagpipes! (unexpected, right? 🤣)

It’s truly an amazing little pocket where you can experience authentic Italy as it naturally is and simply BE in the culture. 👌🏼

🥰A very special experience for our very special guests during our Treasures of Florence (Women-Only Edition) small group trip.

Taking in the beauty of Florence from this unique angle was truly spectacular!

We got to experience the Arno River in historic Florentine boats which move by a long pole used to push off the bottom, like in Venice.

Views from 📍Montepulciano- NOT off-the-beaten-path but worth a visit while staying at one of the hidden gems nearby!

The best way to do it? 🤔

✨Stay at an agriturismo with stunning countryside views and a restaurant on site then spend your days exploring villages like Montepulciano in your car rental or with a hired driver.

🍷🧀But don’t forget to also visit wineries, scenic stops, natural hot springs, and cheese farms!

Cortona overload. ☀️ Actually, you can’t overload on Cortona. Every day here is magic for the soul.

I spent my 3 days in Cortona seeing old friends, climbing familiar hills, indulging in delicious food, and discovering new artisan shops!

We have two groups of guests heading to Cortona this year so far and I can’t wait to share my freshly-updated insight.
