Cultural Contact was a company that hired young people from outside Italy to sell, initially, encyclopedias then laterally business cards, to businesses around Italy. On the pretence that they were on a "Viaggio Culturale" (cultural visit) they had to "win" a competition "come una borsa di studio" (like a scholarship) to enable them to lengthen their stay in Italy. Anyone out there ever worked for Cultural Contact Srl? I have mixed feelings about it but generally good. I learnt a language and travelled the length and breadth of Italy. Certain people were treated very unfairly though and that did make me feel pretty bad.
