Before it became a summer ritual, Ferragosto was a gift of time.

🏛️ Two thousand years ago, Emperor Augustus decided to give the Roman people a well-earned rest after the harvest. He called it "Feriae Augusti": the holidays of Augustus. That's where the name we still use every August 15th comes from.

Over the centuries, the celebration wove itself together with the Feast of the Assumption, changed shape, but never lost its deeper soul: slowing down.

Coming together. A long lunch, a swim, an afternoon with no clock in sight.
