Located in the medieval city of Siena, Italy, Vetrate Artistiche Toscane (glassisland.com) represents the continuing tradition of the production of stained glass that first began there in the 12th century. The creativity of Vetrate Artistiche Toscane is dedicated to the creation of stained glass and mosaics, both for religious and architectural purposes, and the technique of fusing. Founded in 198

Grateful for new friendships that cross continents!

This week we had the pleasure of welcoming a fabulous group, led by the wonderful Sandi Levinton — travel agency owner, group travel guru, and all-around inspiring woman from Saskatchewan, Canada.

Sandi is currently hosting a Tuscan adventure, and we were honoured to be part of the journey with a private tour of our stained glass studio here in Siena. Sharing our space and story with curious travellers like hers is part what we love to do.

A look back at our restoration work in Sorano, Grosseto (2020).

Restoration is one of the most meaningful parts of our craft. It breathes new life into old glass, preserves the legacy of the artists who came before us, and keeps these treasures out of the landfill. Every detail we restore is a thread in the tapestry of Italy’s history - honoring the past while carrying it forward.

Ahhhh, the reflection after the students leave is always a strong process.

It’s always a little funny to think how easily friendships are created over just a few weeks in the studio.

Judy, Cindy & Claudia, not sure who left more of an impression on who 😂 but we thank you for spending your time with us, it was special! We hope to see you in Siena again soon!!

📣 hard to believe We’re already well into our 𝘑𝘢𝘯𝘶𝘢𝘳𝘺 6𝘵𝘩–31𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱! It’s been an incredible journey so far having 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 from the 𝙐𝙎𝘼 and 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗼𝗿𝘆 from 𝙁𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚!
