Our covered terrace is where mornings start slow, espresso in hand, sea breeze doing the rest. And where evenings end even slower, watching the light melt over La Caletta's coastline. 🌊

Shaded, spacious, and made for doing absolutely nothing (in the best way). Whether it's breakfast for two or sunset drinks with friends, this is the spot you'll remember long after you've left.

Paddling from Cala Girgolu toward Cala delle Vacche, right as the sun began dissolving into the horizon, the water turning gold, then pink, then something in between.
As the last light disappeared, a full moon climbed slowly from behind the mountains across the bay, like the sun and the moon had timed the handoff perfectly.

Then the lights switched on, underneath the board. A soft glow spread through the water, and suddenly the whole ride felt otherworldly. Paddling at night hits different when the sea beneath you starts glowing too.

But Cala delle Vacche isn't only about the crystalline water, it's the rocks that steal the scene. Granite shaped by centuries of wind and waves, piled into these massive, almost sculpted forms. Orange at sunset, silver-blue under the moon. Resting on them between paddles, watching the moon rise higher, felt like the island quietly showing off.

Corde, roccia e acqua fresca.
Calarsi tra le gole di granito di Bau Mela è come entrare in un mondo sospeso, dove il tempo si ferma e l'unico rumore è quello dell'acqua che scorre tra le vasche levigate da millenni.

Tuffi nell'acqua cristallina, pelle sulla roccia tiepida, e intorno una macchia mediterranea f***a e profumata: lecci centenari che filtrano la luce, ginepri arroccati sulle crepe del granito rosa, felci che crescono dove l'umidità del torrente raggiunge le ombre.

Un angolo di Sardegna selvatica, dove la natura ha fatto tutto da sola, e l'ha fatto bene.

Ogni 24 giugno, la piccola chiesa di San Giovanni Battista diventa il cuore pulsante delle celebrazioni con l'immancabile accensione dei falò, rito ancestrale di purificazione e rinascita.

Ma c'è qualcosa di ancora più antico in queste fiamme.
Già nella notte tra il 23 e il 24 giugno, trovarsi intorno al fuoco era un momento cruciale per la comunità. Tenendosi per mano e saltando il falò per tre volte, le persone sancivano i rapporti di comare e compare, un legame destinato a durare per tutta la vita.
Persino Grazia Deledda ne parlò nel suo Marianna Sirca.

Le radici di questo rito affondano nella tradizione contadina sarda: il fuoco serviva a propiziare i raccolti e, metaforicamente, a contrastare il male del mondo.
Un rito pagano sopravvissuto ai secoli, che qui, sulla spiaggia di San Giovanni, prende una forma unica: le fiamme che danzano tra la sabbia e il riflesso del Tirreno.
