🇮🇹 REGGIA DI CASERTA

Il palazzo reale di Caserta è uno dei più maestosi edifici d'Italia, dotato di un parco cui scenografie di fontane e cascate conferisce una grandiosità senza pari. I lavori vennero affidati a Luigi Vanvitelli e iniziarono il 20 Gennaio 1752, giorno del genetliaco del re Carlo di Borbone. L'edificio ha una pianta rettangolare con quattro cortili e 5piani, racchiude 1200 stanze, 34 scale e illuminate da 1752 finestre.

"Nulla, proprio nulla andava bene per Carolina", la moglie di Ferdinando IV di Borbone.L'altezzosa regina che mal tollerava Napoli e i suoi abitanti, modificò le abitudini di corte,l'arredamento del palazzo, lo stile dei ricevimenti e persino i menù. A tal proposito, tra le cose che non gradiva c'era il pane napoletano e per questo chiese che nella reggia si costruisse un forno per il suo panettiere personale , venuto direttamente da Vienna.

The royal palace of Caserta is one of the most majestic buildings in Italy, whose park with a great scenography of fountains and waterfalls gives it a unique magnificence. The works were committed to Luigi Vanvitelli and began on January 20, 1752, the day of the birthday of King Charles of Bourbon. The building has a rectangular plan with four courtyards and 5 floors, contains 1200 rooms, 34 stairways and illuminated by 1752 windows.

🇮🇹 La storia di Napoli ha delle fondamenta anche sottoterra, grazie a un passato lungo più di 5000 anni.

Vie e cunicoli sono stati costruiti partendo dall’epoca preistorica, ma è solo in epoca romanica che Napoli Sotterranea ha preso la sua fisionomia attuale.

I primi scavi ci portano indietro fino a 5000 anni fa, ma è con i greci che si assiste alla prima apertura delle cave sotterranee per ottenere i blocchi di tufo necessari per costruire i templi e le mura di quella che si chiamava Neapolis.

I cunicoli ebbero un ruolo fondamentale in alcuni conflitti permettendo a volte l’invasione degli assalitori o l’approvvigionamento dei cittadini e delle truppe negli assedi prolungati.

I sotterranei furono utilizzati anche come rifugi antiaerei durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale.

Streets and tunnels were built starting from the prehistoric era, but it is only in the Romanesque era that Underground Naples took its current appearance.

The first excavations take us back up to 5000 years ago, but it is with the Greeks that we witness the first opening of the underground quarries to obtain the tuff blocks necessary to build the temples and walls of what was called Neapolis.

The tunnels played a fundamental role in some conflicts, sometimes allowing the invasion of the attackers or the supply of citizens and troops in prolonged sieges.

The basement was also used as air-raid shelters during the Second World War.

🇮🇹 A Napoli a pochi passi dalla stazione della Metro 2 di Mergellina esiste un piccolo parco sito alle spalle della chiesa di Santa Maria di Piedigrotta che ospita, fin dall'antichità un luogo straordinario: la Tomba di Virgilio.

Sito alla pendici orientali del promontorio di Posillipo, dal greco Pausilypon (“pausa del dolore”), il Parco Vergiliano, da non confondere con il panoramicissimo Parco Virgiliano di Posillipo, si trova vicino alla galleria che porta a Fuorigrotta e alla stazione di Mergellina.

🇮🇹 Positano è un antico borgo marinaro e dagli anni ’60 del ‘900 è diventata la località più “in” della costiera.

Il suo fascino risiede nelle bianche stradine e gradonate piene di botteghe, atelier di artisti, ristoranti e caffè.

La tradizione vuole che Positano sia stata fondata dagli abitanti di Paestum, in fuga a causa di un assedio saraceno.

Secondo altre ricerche il nome potrebbe derivare da Posides, appellattivo del liberto romano che fece costruire in queste zone la sua dimora.

Eppure esiste una leggenda che spiegherebbe il nome della località: si narra che un giorno la Madonna Nera, trasportata per mare, invocò i navigatori dicendo loro “Posa, Posa”, venendo così sbarcata nel paese.

🇬🇧 Positano is an ancient seaside village and since the 1960s it has become the most "in" town on the coast.

Its charm lies in the white streets and terraces full of shops, artists' studios, restaurants and cafes.

Tradition states that Positano was founded by the inhabitants of Paestum, fleeing due to a Saracen siege.

According to other researches, the name could derive from Posides, the name of the Roman freedman who decides to built in this area his dwelling.

Besides, there is a legend that would explain the name of the place: it is said that one day the Black Madonna, transported by sea, begged the navigators telling them "Posa, Posa", thus being landed in the country
