Surrounded by oak forests with spectacular views, it is a wonderful place to spend the holidays. Il Castellaccio is a beautiful and totally secluded family villa located outside Spoleto, Umbria. It featured in May 2009 Conde Nast Traveller Magazine as 12th in their line up of the top 20 family villas. The Villa sits in its own land surrounded by oak & chestnut forests full of wild flowers and has

a ruined 12th century watchtower. It is 15 minutes from the centre of the medieval town of Spoleto, famous for its Festival dei Due Mondi. A perfect sightseeing base. One can walk for miles up into the Appennines with views over the Valnerina, or down to Spoleto through the forests.
