Some things are only understood after a few days on the Bibbulmun Track.

Carrying your own pack. Waking up in a tent. Walking through rain, tiredness, laughter and the moments in between.

For many teens, the hike stays with them long after they return home: a little more confidence, closer friendships, real independence and the quiet knowledge that they can handle more than they first thought.

LifeTrail’s 2027 multiday teen hikes are now open, with three-, five- and seven-day options, plus private hikes for groups.

Designed for all teens, perfect for Duke Of Ed, everyone is welcome.

I am a licensed WA tourism hiking operator, with Working With Children Check, a 1:6 guide-to-hiker ratio, Remote First Aid, a PLB and satellite phone carried on every expedition.

I love these moments in nature when it reminds me who’s in charge, I let go, allow it all in and move around me, without fighting it. A blurry bumpy wet screen, loud noisey gusts of wind is what life is all about.

Imagine if when you’re feeling bumped, under pressure, stressed and you’re going to be blown over the only reason it’s still there is because you’re holding yourself so tight it can’t flow. Imagine if letting life go through you, acknowledge but don’t label it, and you allow it to flow past you, you allowed room for calm to enter.

**Local Denmark and Walpole kids and teens hikes are becoming an ongoing part of LifeTrail.**

Hi, this is Didier, I’ll now be offering selected small-group hikes during school terms and school holidays for two age groups:

🥾 Young Hikers — ages 9–12
🥾 Teen Hikers — ages 13–15

These are individual hikes rather than a progressive program, so kids can join when a date suits them. Returning hikers are very welcome.

The current hikes follow 7 km of the Bibbulmun Track to Stanley Island Lookout, with a maximum of six young people in each group.

Giants Campsite is the 44th standard campsite along Bibbulmun tracks 1000km length if you begin in Kalamunda east of Perth. By the time you reach Albany you would have visited 49 campsites.

Giants sits in the Walpole to Denmark section under the canopy of giant Karri, Tingle and She-Oak trees.

This thick lush wet forest is rain forest like with lots of birdlife, the campsite is near the popular Tree Top Walk.
It’s the perfect first overnight experience on the Bibb for a beginner or family. I will be incorporating this campsite section into my youth hikes.

Spending days hiking on the Bibbulmun Track has naturally connect me to all living things. Now also on our 5 acres in Denmark WA, creating compost, growing your own fruit and veggies is pure therapy for the mind, body and soul.

Hiking guides me back to a deep honest connection to everything, I let go the need to worry, judge, expect, hurry. Instead I breathe slowly, deeper. I feel the warm sunlight, the cleansing rain.

Every hike asks something different of you. Sometimes it’s strength. Sometimes it’s fitness. Sometimes it’s your mindset. On this hike, I wasn’t at my best, but one or two were enough to carry me through. You don’t always need everything to be perfect—you just need enough to keep taking the next step.

Sometimes I wonder if we’re searching too hard for answers, always chasing a solution or destination.

Maybe what we really need is to be truly present at a place quiet enough to hear our own thoughts again.

Tonight, Greens Pool was almost silent.
So was I.

Following a beautiful 7km rtn hike on the Bibbulmun Track from Shelley Beach to Dingo Beach. I had never been to the Shelley Beach lookout before, I was overwhelmed how beautiful it was. I met a wonderful family of 13, half kids under 12 who spent the day playing in the area.

Not everything in nature needs a scientific explanation.
Sometimes it’s enough just to stop.
To place your hands around a tree that’s been standing there for hundreds of years. To notice the rough bark, the cool shade, the quiet strength beneath your fingertips. Maybe some tree energy.

Does the tree change because you hugged it? Probably not, but maybe. Some science say it does.

Do you change?

Maybe.

Maybe your breathing slows. Maybe your shoulders drop. Maybe, for a moment, you stop thinking about emails, deadlines or everything waiting for you back home.

Whether it’s chemistry, psychology or simply giving yourself permission to pause doesn’t really matter.

The forest has a way of reminding us that we don’t always need to be moving. Be present and allow the extraordinary now to consume us.
