A valentine's day trip to Castiglione del Lago. We had lunch at the towns La Cantina, visited the Palazzo della Corgna for the Chagall exhibtion and then enjoyed the views from the ramparts of the castle.

Latest review of Casa Padrone from Helen (posted on Owners Direct):
There is nothing not to like about Casa Padrone. It's impossible not to be overwhelmed by the views, not to rave about the bedrooms and bathrooms. It is spacious, modern, clean and well-looked after, everything worked perfectly. The pool is enormous but even in May it was warm (we had paid for heating). We all felt so privileged to stay here. We had excellent help from Emma and from Oscar before and during our stay.

Castiglione del Lago spring festival, celebrating tulips, takes place this year from the 6th to 9th of April. Entrance to the festa which takes place in the historic centre of the town, is free. Expect statues and tableaux made of tulips, music, dancing and stalls offering tastings of delicacies, things to buy and food to eat. http://www.festadeltulipano.com/programma-2017/

Casa Padrone is very near some of the important sites associated with Hannibal's famous defeat of the Romans. You can see where he ambushed the Roman army from your sun-beds by the pool.
