Where the river meets the sea 🇮🇹
ciuppìn or ciupìn is a traditional fish soup from Liguria, especially from the area between Lavagna, Chiavari and Sestri (Genoa).
In San Francisco (United States of America), where the dish has become typical, the dish is called cioppino.
In this original Ligurian version, there is a bread crust covering, with the fish inside.
Next, the timeless spaghetti with clams.

Limoncello 🇮🇹
Limoncello is a sweet liqueur, obtained by macerating lemon peels in ethyl alcohol and then mixed with a syrup of water and sugar.
According to tradition, limoncello was born in Italy at the beginning of the twentieth century and its paternity is disputed between Sorrentines, Amalfitans, Caprians or Sicilians or Sardinians.
This homemade one is produced in Campania, using the Sorrento lemon (the “femminello”) and the Amalfitan IGP sfusato 🍋

Trattorias!!
It comes from “trattare”, which means “to take into consideration, prepare, serve”, and from the French “traiteur” (which means “food supplier”). Originally, trattorias were popular places where simple meals were served, generally local cuisine.
Fortunately, there are still some small restaurants, called “trattoria” where you can dine simply and relaxed, typical regional dishes, remembering the good old days...
Orecchiette with vegetables, fried Brie with blueberries, veal with tuna sauce, mixed salad. House wine Dolcetto 🍷 and coffee.

A spectacular floral carpet. It’s renowned as one of the largest infiorate in Europe, attracting thousands of visitors each year.
During the event, the streets and squares of Pietra Ligure are transformed into an open-air art gallery with intricate floral carpets. These ephemeral masterpieces are created by “maestri infioratori” (master flower artists) using thousands of fresh and dried flower petals. Roots & culinary traditions 🇮🇹
In Italy we call it “antipasto misto della casa” from north to south.
This is from southern Italy, enriched with mixed battered vegetables and warm white focaccia.
We continue with a Neapolitan fish soup and revisited parmigiana.
All washed down with Coda di Volpe, a wine originally from Campania. Historical references can be found since the time of ancient Rome. The name of this wine comes from the characteristic shape of the bunch, which resembles the shape of a fox’s tail.
