Rua era fratello di Octar e di Mundzu, e per questo zio di Attila (figlio di Kmer, tribù di Istar). Regnó sugli Unni e sui popoli tributari dal 412 al 434 d.C. Durante il suo regno stipulò accordi con l’imperatore Teodosio II. Si dice che morì colpito da un fulmine.

Rua was the brother of Octar and Mundzu, and therefore the uncle of Attila. He ruled over the Huns and their tributary peoples from 412 to 434 AD. During his reign, he made agreements with Emperor Theodosius II. It is said that he died after being struck by lightning.
