Not every hotel manages to be genuinely cool and genuinely comfortable at once, but Kimpton Tsim Sha Tsui nails it.

It’s Kimpton’s new flagship, the largest in the brand’s global (and growing) portfolio, built on the historic site of the former Mariners’ Club. Harbour views from all 495 rooms, a heated rooftop infinity pool on the 50th floor, and a fabulous run of restaurants from Yunnan and Guizhou flavours at JIJA and weekend Baja brunch by the pool to jazz in the lobby on Wednesday nights. Even the small details feel perfectly thought through, like the lululemon yoga mats and custom Elephant Grounds coffee in every room.

One of Venice’s most storied addresses is about to open its doors again, and this time, under a new name.

Danieli, Venezia, A Four Seasons Hotel, reopens on the lagoon this August after a three year restoration. Three palaces dating back to the 15th century, steps from Piazza San Marco, have been brought back to life by designer Pierre-Yves Rochon with Murano glass chandeliers, gilded staircases, and the four storey pink marble atrium the hotel has always been known for.

This iconic Venetian palace now joins the Four Seasons portfolio, opening with 120 rooms and suites and a rooftop restaurant with some of the best lagoon views in the city. A dedicated spa follows later this year.

South Africa’s newest safari address will soon be opening its doors, and the story behind it is as good as the game viewing.

Sandringham Private Game Reserve sits along the Timbavati River in Limpopo, bordering the Timbavati and Thornybush reserves within the Greater Kruger system. It was once a neglected hunting reserve. Five years of rehabilitation and rewilding later, it’s now protected wilderness, home to the Timbavati’s legendary white lions among its thriving wildlife.

It’s the newest addition to the Sabi Sabi Collection, the family behind some of South Africa’s most acclaimed safari lodges for over four decades. Expect the same level of craft here: private plunge pools, indoor-outdoor bathrooms, and suites designed to disappear into the bush around them, plus unfenced access to the Big Five and the wider Greater Kruger ecosystem.
