ALESSANDRO & THE MOSAIC TRADITION - Alessandro lives in Cannaregio and works with passion at restoring the ancient Venetian churches floors. At the momemt his time is absorbed by working at San Dona' Cathedral in Murano, that boasts a 12th century marble mosaic pavimentation. When free from his main activity, Alessandro creates accurate reproductions of Byzantine marble and glass mosaics. He makes his own tiles, and also adds a touch of creativity by styling elegant frames and other objetcs. Visiting his lab full of color and beauty helps understanding a timeless art and Venice itself!

CHIHULY IN VENICE 2026 - the three installations aling the Grand Canal - by the Accademia Bridge - and small but splendid exhibit at Campo Santo Stefano - steos away from Palazzo Franchetti Cavalli - commemorate CHILULY OVER VENICE, that, thirty years ago, transformed Venice into a magic realm of glass and color. The artist, Dale Chihuly, arrived to Venice for the first time in 1968, and apprenticed at the Venini Furnace in Murano. He will return many times, creating a very strong link with our city:
"Venice's light, its history, and its breath-taking architecture have been a constant source of inspiration for me.”

CORMORANT IN DORSODURO - the quiet waters of Rio delle Romite, Dorsoduro, are a good underwater fishing pond for this solitary bird. 500 years ago thr great Venetian painter Vettore Carpaccio depicted,with his usual wealth of realistic details, a group of people on a boat hunting with the help of a cormorant, the Lagoon landscape in the background.
