CORMORANT IN DORSODURO - the quiet waters of Rio delle Romite, Dorsoduro, are a good underwater fishing pond for this solitary bird. 500 years ago thr great Venetian painter Vettore Carpaccio depicted,with his usual wealth of realistic details, a group of people on a boat hunting with the help of a cormorant, the Lagoon landscape in the background.
