Set within the historic Palazzo Rocca Contarini Corfù, The Spirits of Maritime Crossing 2026 deepens the cultural dialogue between Venice and Bangkok through narratives shaped by memory, movement, and ritual. Bringing together perspectives that emerge across maritime routes, the exhibition examines migration, ecological vulnerability, and cultural inheritance, highlighting how communities navigate experiences of loss, displacement, adaptation, and renewal.

Im historischen Palazzo Rocca Contarini Corfù setzt The Spirits of Maritime Crossing 2026 den kulturellen Austausch zwischen Venedig und Bangkok fort. Die Ausstellung erzählt von Wegen über das Meer, geprägt von Erinnerung, Bewegung und Ritual. Im Mittelpunkt stehen Fragen von Migration, ökologischer Fragilität und kulturellem Erbe sowie die unterschiedlichen Wege, auf denen Gemeinschaften mit Verlust, Wandel und Neuanfang umgehen.

One of Venice’s absolute must-see attractions is the Scuola Grande di San Rocco, where Tintoretto devoted more than twenty years to decorating its three magnificent halls with an extraordinary cycle of paintings depicting scenes from the Old and New Testaments.
Another compelling reason to visit this remarkable building is the presence of three highly reflective silicon bronze sculptures currently on display. These contemporary works by Jan Fabre enter into a fascinating dialogue with Tintoretto’s historic masterpieces, creating a striking encounter between past and present.

Zu den absoluten Höhepunkten eines Venedig-Besuchs zählt die Scuola Grande di San Rocco, in der Tintoretto mehr als zwanzig Jahre damit verbrachte, ihre drei prächtigen Säle mit einem außergewöhnlichen Gemäldezyklus zu schmücken, der Szenen aus dem Alten und Neuen Testament darstellt.

Una delle mete assolutamente imperdibili di Venezia è la Scuola Grande di San Rocco, dove Tintoretto dedicò oltre vent’anni alla decorazione delle sue tre magnifiche sale con uno straordinario ciclo di dipinti raffiguranti episodi dell’Antico e del Nuovo Testamento.
Un altro valido motivo per visitare questo straordinario edificio è la presenza di tre sculture di Jan Fabre in bronzo al silicio altamente riflettente attualmente esposte. Queste opere contemporanee instaurano un affascinante dialogo con i capolavori storici di Tintoretto, creando un suggestivo incontro tra passato e presente.

Street art arrives in Venice, at Piazzale Roma: around a dozen rubbish bins have been decorated by the artist Mr Clay.

He is a local artist from Marcon, whose works often feature a rectangular figure. He calls them “the hallucinated ones” and describes them as an ironic representation of society: “an invitation to enrich our lives with the vibrant and positive energy of the rainbow. This may not solve the conflicts of the world, but it is a way to encourage reflection.”
Personally, I love colours, and for this reason I find these artworks cheerful, original and funny.

Street Art kommt nach Venedig, auf den Piazzale Roma: Rund ein Dutzend Mülleimer wurden vom Künstler Mr Clay gestaltet.

Es handelt sich um einen lokalen Künstler aus Marcon, in dessen Werken häufig eine rechteckige Figur erscheint. Er nennt sie „die Halluzinierten“ und beschreibt sie als eine ironische Darstellung der Gesellschaft: „eine Einladung, unser Leben mit der lebendigen und positiven Energie des Regenbogens zu bereichern. Das wird die Konflikte der Welt zwar nicht lösen, aber es ist eine Möglichkeit, zum Nachdenken anzuregen.“
Ich persönlich liebe Farben und finde diese Werke deshalb fröhlich und originell!

La street art arriva a Venezia, a Piazzale Roma: una dozzina di cestini della spazzatura decorati dall’artista Mr Clay.

Si tratta di un artista locale, di Marcon nella cui opere primeggia una figura rettangolare. Lui li definisce ‘gli allucinati e sono una rappresentazione ironica della società … un invito ad arricchire le nostre vite con la vibrante e positiva energia dell’arcobaleno. Non sarà questo a risolvere i conflitti del mondo, ma è un modo per stimolare una riflessione’.

A me piacciono molto i colori e pertanto li trovo allegri e divertenti!

Today marked the 50th edition of the Voga Longa, long row, in the Venice lagoon, held under glorious summer weather with bright sunshine and clear blue sky.
There was a strong participation of foreign boats, while the presence of Venetians seemed more limited.

Heute fand doe 50. Voga Longa, langes Rudern, in der Lagune von Venedig statt, begleitet von sommerlichem Wetter, Sonnenschein und blauem Himmel. Zahlreiche ausländische Boote nahmen teil, während vergleichsweise wenige Venezianer auf am Ufer leider vertreten waren.

Oggi si è svolta la 50ª edizione della Voga Longa nella laguna di Venezia, accompagnata da un clima estivo, sole splendente e cielo terso. Grande partecipazione di imbarcazioni straniere, mentre la presenza dei veneziani è apparsa anche dalle rive più contenuta.

Fino al 19 luglio 2026, a Padova, una mostra affascinante dedicata al mondo di M. C. Escher, arricchita da una sezione immersiva e virtuale particolarmente divertente.
Conosciamo tutti le sue tassellature, i paradossi geometrici e le illusioni ottiche: artista incisore, grafico e quasi “matematico”, Escher era anche un grande amante dell’Italia. Vedere dal vivo le sue xilografie e litografie rende questa mostra interessante.

Until July 19, 2026, in Padova, an engaging exhibition dedicated to the world of M. C. Escher, enriched by a fun and immersive virtual section.
We all know his tessellations, geometric paradoxes, and optical illusions: an engraver, graphic artist, and almost a “mathematician,” Escher was also a great lover of Italy. But seeing his woodcuts and lithographs in person makes this exhibition worth visiting.

Bis zum 19. Juli 2026 findet in Padova eine faszinierende Ausstellung über die Welt von M. C. Escher statt, ergänzt durch einen unterhaltsamen und immersiven virtuellen Bereich.
Wir alle kennen seine Tessellationen, geometrischen Paradoxien und optischen Täuschungen: Als Grafiker, Kupferstecher und beinahe „Mathematiker“ war Escher auch ein großer Liebhaber Italiens. Seine Holzschnitte und Lithografien jedoch persönlich zu sehen, macht diese Ausstellung sehenswert.
