📍 In Verona, a group of volunteers at answers each letter by hand, keeping alive one of the world’s most romantic traditions.

It all began in the 1930s, when letters were left at Juliet’s tomb. Today, they still arrive from every corner of the globe — addressed simply to “Juliet, Verona.”

In a world of instant messages, this timeless ritual proves that some feelings deserve ink, not pixels.

Santa Claus? In Verona, Santa Lucia is even more popular during Christmas!

🌟 According to a legend dating back to the 13th century, a mysterious epidemic of “evil eyes” once afflicted the city’s children. Desperate, the townsfolk prayed to Saint Lucy, promising a barefoot pilgrimage to the Church of St. Agnese (where Palazzo Barbieri stands today). To convince their children to join, parents promised that Saint Lucy would bring them gifts upon their return. Miraculously, the epidemic ended, and a cherished tradition was born.

On the night of December 12th, children leave a plate with food and hay for Santa Lucia and her magical flying donkey. If the children go to bed early (or risk getting ashes in their eyes!), they wake up on December 13th to find sweet treats and gifts left by Santa Lucia herself.

🎁✨ This heartwarming tradition remains alive today, with families gathering to bless their children’s eyes and celebrate Santa Lucia’s generosity. It’s a magical experience that lights up Verona during the festive season.
