My name is Nivia Wilkinson, and I am the owner of Nivia’s Enchanted Escapes. I specialize in accessible travel planning, inclusive vacations, group travel, and multigenerational travel.
Why did I become an Accessibility Travel Specialist?
I have a degree in psychology, and mental health has always played an important role in my life. I have family members who live with mental health disorders, learning disorders, and military PTSD, also planning for a blind person. Over the years, I have learned how to structure our own vacations around their needs so everyone can feel comfortable, supported, and included.
When I became a travel advisor, I knew accessible travel was the path I needed to take.
What is accessibility in travel?
Accessibility is a chain of interconnected systems that support participation. Transportation, lodging, activities, medical resources, communication, and personal support must work together. If one part of that chain is missing, it can affect the traveler’s entire experience.
I help travelers identify possible barriers, verify important details, and create personalized vacation plans around their physical, medical, sensory, emotional, psychological, mobility, and neurodivergent needs.
