🇮🇹 COULD THE DOLOMITES TEMPT YOU? 🥾⛰️

We were kindly given permission to share these fabulous photos from San Vigilio in the Dolomites, along with some first-hand feedback from someone exploring the area this week.

Fantastic local buses, an app that makes planning and reaching different walking areas really easy, and apparently so many hiking routes that you could come back time and again.

And then there are those views… 😍

Do I have to be outgoing to enjoy solo travel?

Not at all.

One of the biggest misconceptions is that solo travel is only for confident extroverts.

In reality, many solo travellers are naturally quiet and simply enjoy discovering new places without having to organise everything themselves.

Some people make lots of new friends, while others are perfectly happy enjoying a coffee, a museum or a beautiful view on their own.

There’s no right or wrong way to travel solo.

The best solo holidays are the ones where you can simply be yourself.

The people behind the holiday 🌴

When I’m away visiting hotels, I naturally take plenty of photographs of the rooms, restaurants and facilities. But looking back through my photos from the Dominican Republic, I realised just how many pictures I’d taken of the people I met along the way.

Housekeepers, chefs, waiters, bar staff, gardeners all the people working quietly behind the scenes to make our holidays what they are.

It reminded me that however beautiful the hotel, very often it’s the people you remember just as much as the place. ❤️

The great thing about Bordeaux isn’t just the beautiful architecture or the cafés… it’s the atmosphere. 🇫🇷

With a convenient Loganair direct flight from Jersey, it’s an easy city to escape to for a long weekend. One minute you’re wandering past beautiful little cafés, the next you’re discovering artisan cheese shops or stopping for coffee and freshly baked madeleines. Add colourful pâtisserie windows, leafy squares and an easy-to-use tram system, and it’s a city that encourages you to slow down and simply enjoy being there.

Some destinations are all about ticking off the sights. Bordeaux reminded me that sometimes the best memories come from the moments in between.

If you’re looking for an easy European city break full of charm and character, Bordeaux is well worth considering.

🇸🇪 STOCKHOLM – A CITY BREAK WITH A DIFFERENCE

Built across islands and surrounded by water, Stockholm combines beautiful architecture, historic streets, great museums and plenty of waterfront to explore.

There’s the colourful old town of Gamla Stan, boat trips through the archipelago and, of course, a certain rather famous Swedish pop group… 🎶

The ABBA Museum is great fun, although judging by my attempt to take to the stage with them, I don’t think I’ll be getting the call anytime soon! 😂
