Www.modularjamaica.com This is the house that was still standing in Westmoreland after Melissa, a cat 5 hurricane.

I was curious, so I started asking questions about the house and how it was built. That’s when I came across Modular Jamaica.

They are using precision-engineered, cold-formed steel framing to build homes designed for Caribbean conditions. The structures are Cat 5 certified and engineered for winds of 160+ mph, with a 25-year structural warranty.

But what really caught my attention is the speed.

The steel frame can be erected in just 1 day, with a complete home taking around 3–6 weeks, depending on the project.

And this isn’t just about buying a prefabricated house.

Modular Jamaica is working with Jamaican contractors and tradespeople, providing training and certified installation, while supplying the steel framing and engineering. Their factory in St. Catherine can deliver island-wide, and they also offer volume pricing for builders and developers.

For construction companies, developers and contractors, this could mean access to a faster, more predictable building system without having to completely reinvent the way you build.

They even offer white-label partnerships, meaning companies can sell the system under their own brand with support for CRM, website and fulfillment.

With Jamaica needing housing that is faster to build, more resilient and able to withstand increasingly extreme weather, I think this is something worth paying attention to.

Sexual-health is SO important, because you can sometimes walk around with an infection without even knowing it.

Many STIs cause little to no symptoms in both men and women. If infections like chlamydia or gonorrhea go untreated, they can cause pelvic inflammatory disease and scarring of the reproductive tract and fallopian tubes. This can affect fertility and increase the risk of ectopic pregnancy.

Mycoplasma genitalium is another STI that can cause inflammation and has been associated with PID and reproductive health complications and is way too common.

I’ve been working with Caribbean Genetics for many years, helping to break the taboo around getting tested. Testing is nothing to be ashamed of. It’s taking responsibility for yourself and the people you’re intimate with.

And PLEASE remember: if you test positive, let your recent seggsual partners know so they can get tested and treated if necessary. Your partner(s) should also get tested. Otherwise, you can unknowingly pass an infection back and forth.

Sunday vibes up at is something very special and unique! You’ll hear the soundsystem way before you reach the top of reggae mountain, sweet sounds of reggae music spreading over the hillsides. The city lights twinkling under us, cooler mountain air caressing my skin, the smell of herb blazing and sip simmering reaching my nose while trodding the stairs down to Kingston Dubclub. People dancing together In front of the masive speakers, heads bopping, hips swaying, arms lifted, feet jumping.. all awhile small dogs running up and down between the people’s feet stopping for scratches once in a while. This is Sunday church for many. A space to apprecilove reggae music and Rastafari livity. A space to share. Big up Gabre Selassi for opening your home to us every Sunday such a gift.

one of my favourite soup places, and it’s located in Yallahs! Right in the town centre, under some white tents. I learned about them when I asked taxi drivers who had the best soup. It’s always a great idea to ask taxi drivers because they’re constantly on the road and know all the best places to eat. Across from the soup spot, there’s also a man selling ginger ale. They usually have 3 to 4 different types of soup.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, shared their talents or helped behind the scenes. When people contribute what they can, it can create something much bigger than any one person could do alone.

The kids enjoyed trampolines, bounce around, rides, the pool and a clay workshop. They got ice cream, hot dogs, sandwiches, school bags and school supplies But this wasn’t just about giving things away. they got to spend the day playing, creating, learning and having fun and feel supported by their own community.

And the work doesn’t stop here.

We’re already looking ahead to the next giveaway for Christmas, and we’re looking for people, companies and brands who want to get involved.

That could mean financial support, food and drinks, clothes, shoes, toys, school supplies or products for the children but it’s not limited to that.

Easily on my top 3 of good Curry in Kingston 📍 Moby Dick, 3 Orange Street, Kingston Jamaica. It’s a genuinely old Downtown institution. The restaurant was purchased by Morlyn Mangaroo-McBean and her family in 1986, and it has remained family-operated. They are very well known for their curry conch and goat but also Curry Dhal, Chicken, Shrimp AND-Sweet and sour fish/chicken. Real authentic and non pretentious.
