Suzuki has announced that it will work together with a Japanese start-up called SkyDrive to make flying cars. They plan to start production around spring 2024 and want to be at the forefront of this growing industry.
Flying cars are special vehicles that can take off and land vertically using multiple rotors. They are designed to carry a small number of people, and some models can also be used on the ground.
SkyDrive will create a new company to assemble the vehicles, using Suzuki’s plant in Shizuoka Prefecture. They want to use these vehicles at the 2025 World Exposition in Osaka.
This collaboration comes after SkyDrive revealed plans to change the design of their flying car to carry three people instead of two, increasing the flight range to approximately 15 kilometers.
