My husband and I just spent the whole week at Universal with one day at Disney, and as a travel advisor, I cannot wait to share the trip with you! 💫 Over the next few weeks, I will be posting about some of the amazing things you can experience.

🌙 Rose Hall Evening Tour 🌙

If anyone is a fan of Johnny Cash, Ghost Adventures, or even America’s Next Top Model…Rose Hall is probably on your list of places to visit.

In Montego Bay, up on the hill overlooking the ocean, is the beautiful Great House. It is famous because of Annie Palmer, the White Witch of Rose Hall. She was a plantation owner who practiced voodoo, killed and tortured many slaves, and killed her three husbands. Rumor has it they are buried under 3 palm trees closer to the Caribbean sea. 🌴🌴🌴 She was later murdered by her slave lover, Taku.

Rose Hall has a grim past, but is very well-preserved and a great historical site. The guides bring you through the house and around the property, telling Annie’s tale and warning you of Duppies (ghosts) and the Rolling Calf (half man, half bull) that could try and terrorize you. They say if you hear the rattling of chains… RUN! ⛓️ The evening tour is extra fun because they add interactive theater to the tour…like a haunted house, 🏚️ with live actors. You are not allowed to take pictures inside, but you can outside and down in the dungeon bar. And if you’re brave enough, you can try the delicious Witches Brew, a rum fruit punch special! 🍹

When the tour comes to a close, you get to visit Annie’s grave on the property…and as someone who has experienced paranormal activity, I can tell you there is something there. 🕯️

Fun fact…Johnny Cash performed at Rose Hall many years ago, and his house in Jamaica is less than 5 minutes away and next to Rose Hall! It’s called Cinnamon Hill. Sadly, we didn’t have a chance to visit on this trip, but we will make a point to do so the next time we visit Jamaica. 🎸 You should also take a listen to Cash’s song, “The Ballad of Annie Palmer.” It’s very good! 🎶

🐬 Dolphin Cove 🐬

This excursion in Ocho Rios has been a favorite of ours since 2012! In the 9️⃣ times we have traveled to Jamaica, 🇯🇲 we have visited Dolphin Cove 4️⃣ times! 😱

Dolphin Cove has expanded over the years and has only improved. They take amazing care of these beautiful creatures, and the enclosed cove is built into the ocean. 🌊 There are different levels of Dolphin Swims, depending on what you are looking for:
🔹 Dolphin Encounter (hug, kiss, handshake, hand target)
🔹 Swim Adventure (hug, kiss, handshake, hand target, belly ride)
🔹 Royal Swim (hug, kiss, handshake, hand target, dorsal tow, foot push)

My husband and I have done the Royal Swim and Swim Adventure, which are absolutely amazing! I have included a number of pictures from this trip along with some of our favorites from years past. The picture you see where it looks like my husband is standing in the water…he isn’t. The dolphins pushed him up out of the water by his feet! Hence the name “Foot Push.” 😂 You really feel like you’re flying. The dolphins are super sweet and give so much love. You’ll want to stay in the water with them all day. 🩵 And it doesn’t stop there! There is a small trail filled with birds, 🦜 and iguanas. 🦎 There are also opportunities for shark 🦈 and stingray encounters!

Dolphin Cove is an experience that you don’t want to miss!

P.S. On our honeymoon in 2017, we were allowed to meet the baby dolphins! 🐬 Three boys…and oh, did my husband and I want to dive in with them! We didn’t…but we wanted to! 😉

🌴 Sandals Dunn’s River Resort 🌴

One of the great benefits of Sandals Resorts is that many times you can stay at one and play at multiple! 😍 We stayed at Sandals Ochi, but decided to take a ride over to Sandals Dunn’s River for dinner and to see a dear friend who works there now.

Sandals Dunn’s River was around many years ago, but was sold and lost to the brand. However, it was bought back and reopened in 2023. Newly renovated with infinity pools, a stunning beach, new restaurants, and a rum bar…this resort truly represents Jamaica. 🇯🇲

I highly recommend it, especially for people looking for elegance in the most “happening” place in Jamaica, which is Ocho Rios. There is so much to do in the area…and if you’re looking for adventure, it’s the best spot on the island to stay. 🤩 Sandals Dunn’s River is a smaller resort compared to Sandals Ochi, but it’s absolute perfection and very accessible. Plus…I know the best Butler to request if you decide to go, and I’d be happy to share that with you if you book with me. 🩵

🪴 JACANA Farm Tour! 🪴

This is a relatively new tour that I discovered through Island Routes. 🌴 Our second day in Jamaica, we took a bus up to the JACANA Farm in St. Ann Parish. If any of you know the name JACANA, it is known for cannabis and the tour is advertised as a Cannabis Farm Tour. However, it is so much more than that. They grow all types of vegetables 🌽🥗🥬 and herbs, and our guide went over many of their amazing uses. Lemongrass, mint, rosemary, turmeric, vervain (vampires beware! 🧛🏻‍♀️ IYKYK)…you name it, they had it! 🌿 Personally, I want to grow Lemongrass around my home to help keep the bugs away. 🦟 I use the essential oil in my homemade bug spray, and it really does work! ✨

Yes, we did learn about how they grow cannabis from beginning to end, and believe it or not, it’s a very interesting process. While I don’t personally smoke, many people do, and it has become legal in many states in the USA. 🇺🇸 Being a travel advisor, it’s my job to check out tours that are out of my comfort zone so that I can help all of my clients, and this was a fun new one for me! My husband and I had a wonderful time and it was a great learning experience. I recommend this tour whether you are a smoker or not. The scenery alone is breathtaking…and don’t get me started on the lunch they provided with fresh food from the farm. To. Die. For! 😋

JACANA also sells some amazing CBD products, some of which are available at the Sandals Resorts spas! 🧖🏻‍♀️ We love CBD in our home…great for anxiety, aches, etc. CBD even helped my husband quit smoking ci******es 9 years ago! 😍 The uses are endless and quite amazing.

Greetings, everyone! 👋🏻 My husband and I are home from our anniversary vacation to Jamaica! 🇯🇲 We stayed at our home away from home, Sandals Ochi. 🌺 We’ve made many wonderful memories there over the years, and we made some fun new ones on this trip! 😎 Over the next few weeks, I will be sharing our adventures and showing you how great an all-inclusive resort vacation can be! Looking for a weekend getaway? 🚘 I took my husband away for his birthday 🎉 and he is beyond thrilled! We went to Foxwoods Resort and Casino, 🎰 but stayed at Captain Grant’s 1754 Bed and Breakfast down the street. 🏡

We spent most of our time at Foxwoods: a little slots, great food and drinks, live music, shopping, the works! They advertise it as “The wonder of it all,” and it really can be. ✨

Normally, we stay there too, but we decided to change it up and try a Bed and Breakfast. We saw Captain Grant’s 1754 featured on “28 Days Haunted,” 👻 and have wanted to stay there for quite some time. We didn’t have any particularly supernatural moments other than some chills and vibes in the cemetery 🪦 behind the property, but it was such a wonderful place to stay! Friendly staff, gorgeous historical home, and very cozy. We will be back, for sure! 🙏🏻

My husband and I LOVE to travel, hence one of the reasons I became a Travel Advisor. ✈️ Last year, we did not get to take a vacation, as our puppy, Bennett, was too young to leave during our normal vacation time of year (even with his Gramma)…and then our world spiraling. 🌀

However, I am thrilled to announce that we will be returning to our favorite island 🏝️ in 90 days…J A M A I C A. 🇯🇲 We will be staying with our favorite resort brand, Sandals. Side note: I am a Certified Sandals/Beaches Specialist and have been a Sandals Select Member for 13 years…so if you are ever interested in staying at one of their gorgeous all-inclusive resorts, please let me know! I can get you the BEST deals with all of the knowledge and experience I have acquired over the years. 🌟

What excites me more than anything about this trip is that we will be staying at our home resort, Sandals Ochi. Many people have stated over the years that it’s “dated” and have criticized it for not being as “modern” as the newer Sandals Resorts. Is it older? Yes. Did it need some updating? Yes. Well, guess what? Sandals did just that! 🤩 It is the largest and least expensive Sandals Resort, and has been recently renovated. It was a slow and steady process, but the pictures they shared look incredible, and I cannot wait to see what has become of our second home. 🥰 It will be an absolute pleasure to share the new Sandals Ochi with you all. Yeah mon! 😎
