MSC Cruises has announced plans that are expected to bring 120,000 additional international visitors per year to the Dominican Republic, following the launch of year-round cruise operations from La Romana.

The move marks a major expansion for MSC in the Southern Caribbean and represents the cruise line’s first permanent homeport presence in the country.

The expansion will be driven by the deployment of MSC Opera, which will begin sailing from La Romana in November 2026 on a year-round basis.

The ship will operate a mix of seven-night and 14-night itineraries, allowing MSC to extend the traditional seasonal cruise window and create a steady flow of international arrivals.

Bookings are now open with us at Sheri Funtastic Travels and Resorts Ltd for Christmas 2026 no Visa required sailing from the Dominican Republic.

Deposit only US$50.00 per person to confirm your place on the sailing by March 1, 2026.

Second deposit April 1, 2026 of US$149.00 per person based on double occupancy.
