I'm simply just grateful. I think everyday how my great grandmother would be so proud that we're still in our little village, that's becoming not so little 😊🙏🏽. Yet still maintains that small homey fishing village sensibility. Where the community and kindness is prime real estate!

I'm never surprised at how beautiful our sunsets can be. And to see it shine on ongoing projects, makes it even better. I'm so happy to see the railings go up on our new apartment. Looking forward to the complete finalization of the space and sharing it with everyone.

My favorite holistic retreat in Montego Bay was damaged during the hurricane. But thankfully my friends were safe during and after Melissa. The care and the joy that they bring to people cannot be surpassed. I'm truly blessed to have friends and family in my life and in the industry that are so amazing. I wish them an amazing recovery and continued joy!

Honestly, I am just so proud of my community. It's been difficult not physically being there with everyone as they go through rebuilding and restructuring. But I love that I still can support from afar. The things that I've seen my village do is leaps and bounds beyond my imagination. I look forward to all our guests continuing to come back and supporting us on a whole.

Part 1: We set out from Treasure Beach and traveled across the island toward Montego Bay 3 days after Melissa, and what we witnessed was incredible during our 9 hour journey. This photo series captures the resilience of Jamaica outside of our immediate community. From clearing roads to sharing meals, every town, every village, and every person we met along this journey is a testament to the fact that Hurricane Melissa may have hit us hard, but she could not break our spirit. In the wake of Hurricane Melissa's devastating blow, it's easy to look around and only see the damage. But for us, the true beauty and the unshakeable strength is in you, the people. It’s in the shared grief, yes, but mostly in how quickly you've all come together. Watching neighbors help neighbors, friends sharing what little they have, and the entire community rise up is my favorite reminder of the humanity that defines this place. The landscape may be broken for a moment, but the spirit of Treasure Beach shines brighter than ever. Stay strong.

I am absolutely devastated. But at the same time I am so thankful and thrilled that my family and friends are alive. This was one of the most traumatizing experiences for many of us. And Treasure Beach as we know it has changed. Most things have been wiped out but we have life.
