When travel makes you cry 🥹

Y’all, this is an experience I’ve been dreaming about for decades! Cooking with a real Italian Nona in her actual kitchen. Not only is this HER kitchen, this is the kitchen her grandmother and her great grandmother cooked in as well. These are the utensils that have been used for generations, including a 100 year-old basket!

This was hands-down, one of the best experiences of my life! Everything homemade. Everything beautiful, simple and elegant!

You are looking for authentic, off the beaten path REAL experiences, let’s chat!

Where would you go, or have you gone that would make you cry happy tears?

Alright y’all, this is a big one.

It’s official. Spirit Airlines has shut down operations and canceled all flights effective immediately.

If you or someone you know had a Spirit flight booked, here’s what you need to know:

• Refunds are being automatically processed back to the original form of payment.

• There is no rebooking support through Spirit.

• Customer service is no longer available.

Now here’s where it get real. Ultra low cost carriers like Spirit play a BIG role in keeping flight prices competitive. When one disappears, it usually means higher fares across the board, especially for domestic travel.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐬 — 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩.

United Airlines has already announced:
• Price capped one way tickets from many former Spirit cities
• Temporary travel support for displaced passengers

Overall, this is going to create some ripple effects for a bit.

𝐑𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐰, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐝𝐨 𝐢𝐬:

• Keep an eye on your refund

• Start looking at alternative options sooner rather than later

• Give yourself extra time and flexibility if you have upcoming travel

And if you’re feeling stressed about this, I get it. Travel is supposed to be exciting, not chaotic.

I’m absolutely here as a resource for you. If you have questions, want to sanity check options, or just need help understanding what’s going on, reach out.

We’ll get through this wave together.

Curious, did you ever fly Spirit? What was your experience?
