🛡️ Qasr Al-Hallabat – Small Roman Fortress
Originally a Roman military post guarding the ancient Via Nova Traiana, later transformed into a luxurious Umayyad residence. Its basalt-and-limestone architecture tells a layered story of empire and adaptation.

🌾 Qasr Burqu’ – Desert Castle of Mafraq
A remote castle set beside an ancient seasonal lake. Built over Roman foundations and expanded in the Umayyad era, it once served travellers, hunters, and desert patrols. A truly off-the-beaten-path treasure.

🚙 Qasr Tuba – Remote Desert Fortress (4×4 Required)
One of the last and least-visited Umayyad castles, reachable only by 4×4 tracks. Its long walls and desert isolation make it a dream location for adventurers seeking untouched Jordanian heritage.

🏛️ Umm al-Jimal – Basalt Roman–Byzantine Town

🏰 Qasr Al-Mshatta – The Winter Palace

Qasr Al-Mshatta is one of the grandest Umayyad palaces, believed to be a royal “winter residence” built in the 8th century. ⭐The Islamic Zodiac at Qusayr Amra ⭐

Hidden beneath the domed ceiling of Qusayr Amra’s ancient bathhouse lies one of the most remarkable artworks of the early Islamic world — a painted celestial dome showing the Zodiac and star constellations. Created in the early 8th century, it represents the earliest known depiction of the Zodiac in Islamic art.
