Three Wadis to Karak
We started the fourth section of the Jordan Trail. From Wadi Zarqa Ma’in we cross to Wadi Hidan. Mohammad’s home ground he knows every stone and every plant. His stories are full of passion for the tradition and the culture and I’m one big ear. We camp at the side of the canyon and I finally get to soak my tired feet. Here and there we get some goods from the locals, beans, goats milk, fruit. We make simple meals. Crossing Wadi Mujib, finding more black irises. Yarob tells about the villages we are passing. At Majdelein we set our camp just under Rashid’s farm. I get to see the evening milking and enjoy some fresh sheep’s buttermilk. Rashid joins us as we make our dinner. Ash baked potatoes with creamy feta. I think about my granny, she loved baked potatoes with curds and so do I. In the morning we continue to Karak. We walk mostly on the road and I keep singing to entertain my self a bit. So it is perfect timing for a voice message from a friend 😚
At Karak we stay the night at Beit alkaram _ بيت الكرم guesthouse next to the castle. Lovely place with a character and most importantly hot shower 😁 Time to enjoy Karak’s nightlife.
