A Royal Mark in the Desert!
A remarkable new archaeological discovery has just been made in the southeastern area of the Wadi Rum Reserve in southern Jordan, a Pharaonic royal cartouche (seal) inscribed with the name of Ramses III, the Egyptian Pharaoh who ruled between 1186-1155 BC.

This ancient hieroglyphic inscription is further proof of the deep historical ties between Jordan and Egypt, and the long standing significance of Wadi Rum as a cultural and trade route.

History is always beneath the sand, and every trip reveals a new layer.
